Listening to: blues
I'm so mixed up I don't know where to start.
There is something about a bubble milk tea that just calms me down. I'm not sure why cuz well, I don't even like milk, but whatever. It works. I seem to like it more than the more fruity drinks. Maybe cuz this was the bubble tea that the brown boy got for me and I loved it since.
I spent Friday night curling my hair and watching TV in front of the AC. Both my wrists take turns hurting so I keep bracing each one, one at a time.
This morning I refused to move from bed. I finally sat up and turned on my Firefly series and giggled through that. I love just laying in bed and turning on the TV to wake up. By this time I was excited and wished I had my new glasses by now.
I was supposed to do laundry, eat something, and pack for my overnighter with Kara and Asha. By 11:30 I was back in bed because the house was so hot I couldn't move anymore so I laid in front of the AC til I fell asleep. I didn't get up til 2pm. Man I can sleep a lot, but apparently not consequtively like I used to. I think the heat is to blame. It just gets so hot and she doesnt even turn on the cooler and I get so drowsy when I stay in the house.
So I ate something and I left the house this time. I went to the library to find another Nicholas Sparks book. My goal is to read all of his books. He's romantical. Then I went to the D.I. for who knows why and I found a puzzle that I think my Grandma would love. We love doing puzzles. I also found a mystical one for Arthur. His birthday is coming up. Then I started thinking about Sept and August birthdays and then that branched out to Christmas etc. This time of year is bombarded with thinking/buying for others.
So here I sit at Cafe and check my bank account to make sure all my checks went through and how much I can spend today. Soon I'll run over to Wally World and pick up some pictures I ordered, buy another quick snap camera and pick up some more cheap shirts since my arms are getting fat and won't fit the shirts I have now. I should pick up some dessert for dinner tonight and a lunch morrow and head over to Karas and Ashas place.
The plan is to eat dinner with them, sleep over at Ashas, and wake up 'early', early to them being 7am, to go up to the Uintah National Park to the Water Cascades so they can take pictures and the like. That's all I know. I don't know where else we're going or how long. It's a little stressful and out of my comfort zone, mainly cuz I don't hang out with people like 'them' for a long period of time for a good reason. They do stupid crap and they also fight which I don't enjoy being around. But I'm sure I'll survive. It'll be fun to finally get out of Ashas place tho. Something outside! Something I've been trying to get Kara to do for awhile now.
I can't decide if this heat has made me depressed and drowsy like or if I'm just anxious about this overnighter. Either way, unlike some people, I will not let this depression/anxiety dictate my life, and I will go and I will have fun. :D
Sunday, August 1
Their crazy but awesome German lady neighbor came over for dinner after they gave her some cheap and nasty wine. Lilli De Cair. She's a bigger lady that speaks kind of slowly and says "hunny" and "sweetheart" a lot. She's apparently a psychic and reiki healer. Yeah, whatever that is. She's funny tho. I haven't laughed that hard at the dinner table in years. It was awesome. Like a girls night. She brought her lil' doggy Rambo. We were eating and suddenly something licks my toes and my eyes kind of bug out "something licked my toes". Cute lil' dog. Hilarious owner of said dog.
Meanwhile Kara was fascinated with a snail she discovered when she went to smoke. Apparently she's never seen one? She insists on taking multiple pictures of it. Apparently she didn't know they retreat to their shells when getting flashed at. She crazy.
We finished up dinner around 9 or 10 and she took her dog home and brought over some movies. Apparently they wanted to watch something called Slumber Parties. Lilli happens to be a "slumber parties personal consultant", but the DVD inside was of how to train your dog. We ended up watching Shutter Island til like 1am. More of a mystery movie with disturbing images. But I slept so much today I wasn't tired til it was over. She stayed and chatted for awhile. Maybe she's psychic and knew we wanted her to leave so we could sleep. hah
Kara asked if I was coming out for their last smoke for the night. Psh, no, I'm going to bed. I was out cold on the couch when they came back in. It twas loverly. They woke me up at 7:30am. Mmm the smell of coffee was wonderful, but not the smoke afterward. No breakfast and off to pick up Nancy. From there is was silence on the like 1 1/2 drive. We stopped by the store so they could buy their lunch and drove forever again. She was going super fast on the windy roads and I got car sick in the back. She's got a nice car, but even that new of a car has a hard time going that steep and that windy.
We finally made it to the Cascades. The ride there was not fun and the heat then at 10:30am wasn't helping. Cascades as like three loops of trail. We went on one loop, the first one, and came back. If we hadn't have stopped to wait for 15 minutes at each waterfall for Kara to take a couple thousand pictures it would be a five minute walk. We drove that whole way to sit/walk in the sun while someone takes pictures for 45 minutes just to get back in the car and go home. We stopped and had lunch before leaving Uintah National Park thank goodness. I was starving and feeling sick.
But the way down wasn't so bad as far as sickness b/c wasn't she wasn't going so fast. She actually took her time coming down the mountain. But Asha and Kara are obsessed with music and constant chatter. They consistently harrassed me and Nancy for not talking non stop like they were. It got a lil' irritating. Can't you just shut off the radio/ipod for once in your life while sitting in a car and just enjoy the view and feel the air on your face and enjoy the silence to ponder life??? Does it always have to be loud and fast? Me and Nancy enjoyed it in the back with the wind on our face and watching the scenery and the quiet.
By the time we reached the freeway we were all beat and falling asleep because of the blasted heat. I must admit it was super nice not having to drive. Dropped Nancy off and Kara and Asha started their orney bickering attitudes. Goodness I'm soo going home after that. I grabbed my stuff from their apartment and went home. Kara wanted me to stay cuz Asha was babysitting and she didn't want to go b/c she'd get 'homesick' or whatever. She never wants to be alone. But I was NOT staying a whole day with any of them. I wanted a shower and a nap too ya know. She wouldn't come home with me either tho. Her loss. I doubt I'm coming back to keep her company and hear her whine about Asha.
I seemed to have a lot more energy after driving home. Took a shower, hugged Grandma to death, more talkative, that is until I sat down to read a book. I looked at the clock 10 to 4 and I closed my eyes. I woke up exactly 10 minutes later. It took like one minute to pass out. This heat and that so called 'walk' almost killed us. And I'm going to do this on vacation (St. George) for long periods of time, three days in a row, for fun?!
Dinner with the family and talk a lot with Grandma. She's so cute. I was doing my hair in her room and she was making smoothies. I hear her yell "I'm coming up" (coming up to my room) I just finished my hair and figured I'd meet her up there. A few seconds later she's standing at the top of the stairs with two cups in her hand "Where are you?" I appear at the bottom of the stairs "I'm coming up!". She's so cute when she's confused.
Anyway, the time with Kara and Asha wasn't horrible, it could've been worse. But it was fun, I wouldn't do it again by any means, but fun. Fun meaning as much fun those two would be willing to have in order to fullfill their selfish wants, in Karas case, pictures.
