Yesterday was pretty exciting . . . after driving back from Bangor (way too fast considering the rain and wind) and heading up the hill by our house Iva and I saw a sparking powerline which had continued to spread to small trees, growing fast from the wind. There was a huge cloud of smoke stretching up our road. It smelled sooooo strongly of electrical fire. I freaked when I saw it, cuz I was trying to decide whether getting to Grace (who was home alone) was worth taking the risk of possibly driving over an electrical fire. I hit the acceleration and swerved around it . . . now that I think back about it, it was kind of funny. Iva was yelling to go back while I just continued swearing as we passed it. Anyway . . . we called Libby Elliott, who called 911 (I didn't know if there was a special "fire emergency" number) and my dad came home. There were firetrucks there for about 2.5 hours. Then we lost our power and internet until really early in the morning . . . which was really depressing because I was right at a good part in Wicker Park! (Kate/anybody else who wants to . . . I guess that means I have to wait for u guys)
Ugh, I had the worst sleep though . . . Grace and I decided to sleep with Enid to try to stay warm. I've never been pushed around sooooo much by a dog!!!!! Jeez! She kept punching her paws into my back and trying to shove me off the bed. Then, she felt the need to start licking my face at about 3 because she wanted to go outside. At about 5 . . . she started to whine again! Ugh . . . and Grace refused to get up throughout all of this . . .
Anyway . . . I'm hoping to have a relaxing day for once. I don't really feel like anything too energy-demanding .. . I'm still recovering from such a horrible week at school. Tomorrow, my dad is taking us boarding! I hope the conditions aren't as crappy as everyone's saying they are . . . oh well . . . I NEED to try my new board. If I don't talk to you today . . . see you guys on tuesday at the bball game!
