The moon and six pence is a very special story written by William Somerset Maugham. You must have such a friend who work in bank, with common appearance, and have a common family. Can you image one day he give up all what he have to pursue his dream? Charles is such a man. He left a massage to his wife and kids and then come to Paris. He will never play with his kids and buy wow money, let alone give them money to buy wow gold. He is 40years old, living in a worst hotel in Paris with just one hundred dollars. Actually, it’s not a story that a young ambition man tries his best to make his dream come true and have a beautiful wealthy girl to be his wife at last. Every one pursues his dream, while Charles is looking for his nightmare. Actually, there is no difference between them because anyone who is captured by dream is looking for his nightmare. Of course, the dream is a real dream instead positive print drawn by mother, teacher or the society.
He pledge such as fly to get his nightmare. Thanks for his friend’s help, otherwise he wil be die after 5 years. He becomes a dock man and self-exile to a barren island. At last, he burns all his works when he dies. He lives at another level. His friends ask him: “don't you love your kids?” he answer: “I have no special feeling with them” and friend ask: “don't you need love?” he answer: “love can just disturb my drawing.” When he holds the brush, he is the keen of his own world.
From one hand, he is hateful because he is selfish and not be responsible for his kids and wife, from other hand, he just pursue his dream like many people. There is no himself in his heart but dream.
