Listening to: Computer humming
Feeling: itchy
Lisa's hand trembled. The blade of the knife reflected the candle's flames. She was scared... yet she was determined. Things had gotten too hard. She felt... she KNEW that she couldn't deal with it anymore.
Tears ran down her cheeks as she tried to steady her hand. she outstretched her left arm and unclenched her fist. her palms were a ghostly white. white enough that it looked like the blood had already been drained.
her knees began to shake uncontrollably. she feared she might fall and pierce her heart. that wasn't what she wanted.
she sank to the floor and rested her head against the wall, letting both her hands slip to her sides. she closed her eyes.
she let her mind wander through her memories...her mother's and father's funeral...her first kiss...jake...steph...the rest of her best friends...her sister dying...her rape...thomas... dear dear thomas... how she would miss him... her mind then rested on kylie, that evil lying slut of a "friend" who had tried so hard to take every boyfriend she'd ever had... ruin every ounce of happiness she ever obtained.
but thomas had been different... he hadn't fallen for her charm, her advances. he was the only good thing left in her life. steph was, of course her best friend, but she didn't make her feel anywhere near the way that thomas did. she'd never felt so much for one person. but even he couldn't numb the pain of everything else in her life.
More tears flowed down Lisa's cheeks. she knew that if she thought it over too long, things would get even worse. she took a deep breath and pushed thomas out ofher mind. she couldn't let him keep her here to be miserable... no matter how terribly she would miss him.
leaning there against the wall, lisa brought the knife up to her left wrist once again, and closed her eyes. she ran the blade over it several times, each time pressing harder than the last.
finally she felt the sting she had been waiting for. she felt the sinking feeling she so admired. she opened her eyes. blood was pouring down her arm. she was completely numb to the pain. she smiled.
i'm coming mom... dad...i'm on my way.
she switched the knife from her right hand to her left and made the same motions on her right wrist. that time when the blade broke the skin, Lisa felt the pain. the knife dropped from her hand. she looked at the blood. what had she done? WHAT HAD SHE DONE?
she began to feel lightheaded
no... she thought... no. i'm sorry
tears fell from her eyes mixing with the blood on the floor.
NO. I DIDN'T MEAN IT!
she crawled forward, pulling herself through her own blood, creeping towards the door, following the blood. her vision blurred. she collapsed.
she sobbed to herself no... no... no...
but she knew she couldn't change anything at this point. she rested her head on the floor and covered her face with her bloody hands.
baby mine... don't you cry... baby mine... dry your eyes... rest your head close to my heart... never to part... baby of mine.
she opened her eyes one last time to see the flame of her last burning candle flicker, and go out. she closed her eyes to block the outer darkness.. as the inner darkness took over... consuming her...
