Who's the Real Enemy? by: Mitch Jerkwad With George Bush Jr's 8 year stint in the presidential office slowly coming to a close (very slowly), people have begun asking themselves how could this man possibly get away with a total of 8 years of Hyptocracy, Kleptocracy, and Hierarchal control of the state. This is a short essay giving the reasons why: I'll try as hard as I can to list the main reasons why this asshole is so good at getting away with murder, yes MURDER. #1- Half a Nation of Support: while Dubya's approval ratings may have been plummeting for the past 5 or so years, he still has a a MASSIVE group of die hard followers who find his "hardball, american ethics" quite inspiring and necessary to successfully lead a nation....Luckily, more than 50% of the American population disagrees with this, but support on that massive of a scale can still give GW's poor soul quite a kick in the behind in the direction of a Conservitave Revolution. #2- Popular Opposition: Its becoming increasingly popular nowadays to hate the current president and what he stands for....this is a Great Thing....But at the same time, the masses; if wanting to dissent against a world leader, and oppose one, or maybe even overthrow one, NEED TO DO THEIR HOMEWORK.... Believe it or not, this man has answers for your questions, they may be bullshit...but if you were to walk up to him and ask "George, was the Iraq war worth it???" or "Did you have an Agenda to "liberate" Iraq before you got into office?"...he'd be able to assimilate a SLEW of bullshit and leave the average high school educated american completely stumped. Whenever I hear someone say "aww I hate George Bush" or "George bush is a dumbass"....I always ask them why, not because I stand in opposition to these sayings, but because I simply want reasons and to see if they can tell me why he is unnacceptable as a leader. The majority of the time the people haven't even heard of the patriot act, or about how Osama and Saddam had no relations at all and HATED each other....or about wire taps....they DON'T KNOW ANYTHING, except that the rest of america hates George Bush too, and if you're not, you're a dumbass redneck....so they follow the crowd like an infant calf in a herd of cattle. #3- Laziness of the Dissenters: Right off the bat I need to say that I have not been the biggest activist against George Bush and his republican revolution...but I have done my part with my friends Kelly Mcguire from Dead In Marseille and others in WorldCan'tWait (www.worldcan'twait.org) to get this man out of office...Which means I've been to protest after protest, protests with lots of people, and protests with the 3 leading members of the indiana chapter of WCW. I feel like I have made an effort, that I have strived to be one of the hundreds of thousands of activist americans working to set this country straight, and I am proud. BUT at the same time, Americans that are very ready to preach about what this country needs and how its going in the shitter, never come close to actually making a picket sign, or holding a mega-phone or pass out pamphlets all day just to change a couple of minds and make the nation of dissent even larger. Most of them sit on the couch at gatherings and superbowl parties, or at the dinner table with their families, ranting and raving about how George Bush has run this country in the ground and they wish that Bill Clinton was still in office....but they don't get up from their couch, or leave the dinner table and do ANYTHING to make a change. THIS IS A PROBLEM.......EVERYBODY WITH ANY QUESTIONS ABOUT THEIR LEADER should: (a) research the topic and try to find reasons why he is not acceptable (b) get a small group of people together, or join a group of likeminded individuals who are working to make the world a better place (c) or just spread the word and the knowledge to other people outside your personal circle VERY FEW PEOPLE DO THIS. #4-Prejudices and Inequalities whithin the System: Lobbyists and Huge organizations with lots of money find it quite easy to influences the powers at be and get what they want because of these leaders main interest and concern (money). If you have enough money, you can get a bill passed. If you don't, you'll probably have a hard time getting to talk to your local Alderman. THIS is why we have to find methods of motivation outside of the monetary persuasion........MASS PROTEST and MASS DISSAPROVAL...if a small group of filthy rich people can make an impression on the system then why can't we (1/2 a nation of the opposition) make an impression as well??? because we are not standing forth as a united front against these injustices. Make a flyer to get together with several people at your house and discuss these things.....all it takes is a little thought, a little paper, and a little time. if the whole nation did this then I have no doubt in my mind that we could end this trend of Ultra-Conservative patriarchal families running OUR NATION. You don't have to go in front of the white house, douse yourself in gasoline and set yourself on fire, or put together a million person march through washington D.C (1 reason being because GW probably isn't there, he's probably at his ranch in texas fucking his dog), or become the leader of a huge underground movement like Abbey Hoffman or anything......You just have to do SOMETHING...Thats why I'm writing this paper to you, thats why I'm here at my computer in school typing this up and sending it to YCKMD in the first place...because I want to do my part to help other people do their part as well.
