Crazy Eight

Listening to: Nothing at ALL
Feeling: ugly
I chose the mood because I liked that word. I chose no music because it can't drown out the TV anyway. Seinfeld reruns are slipping past one by one...the cats really seem to like his voice. (personally, i think it's a little annoying) At my new job, I'm surrounded by Repub... Repub... I can't even say the word :-: Oh well, if there has to be a downside to the job, at least it's one I'm WELL EQUIPPED to handle. I announced in the middle of the workday that I am embarassed by President Bush and the way he makes us all look like smug assholes to the rest of the world. They pretty much haven't talked about politics since. --ha beauty colors the trees on her knees needs to please friend makes a wish brings a dish feeds your fish lover heard what you said leads you to bed brushes your head goodnight my beautiful friend...sweet dreams

7-7-7-7-7-7-7

Feeling: groovy
What a lovely Thursday morning. The colder it gets, the more I appreciate fire. Fire to burn and steal the chill. Fire to mesmerize my tired eyes and take me somewhere else. Fire that draws us, drives us, warms us, and transports us all. As the leaves outside take their beautiful, fatal flight, change becomes more obvious all around us. The changing colors in our background noise seem to accentuate more than camoflauge. Jackets are on, the shorts are put away, and everything is in place so that we can start.... COLLEGE BASKETBALL SEASON!!! Go Cats!! have a great day everyone!!

5 is good news

Our friends in Mississippi are alive and in their home without power, but they are all together and alive! What a wonderful thing! They are not "Out of the Woods" yet because Crystal is still 8 months pregnant, and the hospitals have suffered a great deal from the storm. On the homefront, all is well. Saw Indigo Girls in concert on Monday night and it was perfect - everything I wanted to hear. A group called 3-5-human opened for them and they were really really impressive. The girl that sings for them has a really powerful voice and she rocked that theater! So the concert was my 40th birthday present from my sister. The concert was almost 2 weeks BEFORE my birthday, so I'm sure along with the fabulous gift, there was some hint of reminding me for 2 weeks that I'll be 40. But that's ok - she acts older, and I got carded at the bar next door to the theater. Thought for the day: If anything, the hurricane devastation should remind us that there is TRULY no time like the present. Tell people how you feel while you have them near you. You never know how many more chances you will have.

number 4 - the hurricane

Katrina such a harmless sounding name my brother-in-law stayed in Gulfport and survived the hurricane. we haven't heard from him since he said he was going to see what was left of his and his girlfriend's homes. we have friends in Long Beach, MS that we have not been able to reach. i keep searching the news reports for their faces, but so far no luck. when i call their number, the message is "due to the hurricane in the area you are calling, your call cannot be completed at this time." i would think one of the most important things the government could do would be to get satellites redirected to establish phone service to the affected areas so people could call for help and to notify their loved ones that they are alive and where they are. i don't know how to help. we can't go there to search for them. where would we begin? i hope everyone else here knows that their loved ones are safe tonight. please, if you read this, pray (to whomever you pray to) for the safety of my friends and all of those still missing in the wake of the hurricane. thank you

3rd time's the charm

Feeling: unhappy
what an exciting day - waited for the mail so I could go and pay bills - wooohooo. back on Weight Watchers, so ate plenty of grapes, 2 bananas, and a turkey sandwich so far today. bet you're glad you know that. thinking politically today. worried that Bush won't get his head out of his ass until every person under 30 loses his or her life to make more money for Haliburton. that's way too depressing. but honest nonetheless. I just saw that they are making a movie about the flight that our government shot down on 9-11. Oh, I mean, of course, the one where the passengers stormed the terrorists and became heroes. What a crock of shit. If you believe that line of bull, can I interest you in some used toilet paper for $5 million dollars? Trying to write music is not helped out by those kinds of thoughts, so I'm off to read some other entries to hopefully get inspired.

entry #2

ok, so no I don't think I'm Led Zeppelin labeling my entries by the numbers... but, I do think they were on to something (lol). much easier to remember 1,2,3 (what's the next number?) annnnnnnyway..... went to craft fair this weekend and the only thing i really found interesting is that my girlfriend and I sing better than the "Best" Lesbian group here in town. I mean, they have 3 or 4 CDs and they leave out the Em in "Take Me Home Country Roads". oh well.... that's probably not on their regular song list, only for the, um, craft fair crowd. SOOOO the girlfriend says she's gonna start practicing the guitar more so we can get really good and start performing! That sounds good to me. So, it's a pretty happy day in my little world, as I was singing, playing, and writing pretty much all day. and this of course is not "Glamorous" but that's such a good word for a mood, don't you think? Hope everyone has a great night and a GLAMOROUS Tuesday.

my first entry

not working since may has been an unusual journey. first time in my life i was off this long without some sort of injury involved. anyway, i have a lot of time on my hands lately and a lot of things run screaming through my mind. hoping this will give me a place to safely let those screams fly. oh, and the Powerball is over $100 million. (yes, i do suffer from random thought syndrome, thank you)
