I love Ebay

Listening to: That 70's Show
Feeling: lost
Ebay is such a great place! 3 days after I bought all those CD's I already made most of my money back re-selling the CD's on there. What I do when I buy CD's is burn me a copy, then re-sell the originals to get some money back. I paid 15 bucks for the NIN CD and I sold it for 10.00 which means I barley spent 5.00 bucks for it. The Dave Matthews Band CD which I just BARLEY bought yesterday for 10.00 I sold for 9.25 so that means I only paid 75 CENTS for a brand new CD!!! Thats freakin awesome baby! Some of my friends think it's kinda stupid to do that, because theyd rather have the original CD for the cover/CD art and booklet and such, but me personally, I could care less about all that stuff. As long as I have the music, which is why you buy it to begin with, im happy. Who cares about cover/CD art and booklets? When you buy a CD is that why your buying it? for art? No, you buy it for the music thats on the CD itself, so.... I burn me a copy, I still have all the music thats on the original CD in perfect quality, and I make over half my money back. As far as im concerned i win in the end because I make some money back PLUS I still have the CD, may be a burnt CD but it's still the CD with the music regardless. Win win situation for me the seller, and the buyer yes? Now im just waiting to sell the Theory Of A Deadman CD, and I should make at least 30 bucks of my money back all together, which i only spent 37 bucks on all three of those CD's at the store so I only lose 7 bucks; If you wanna call it LOSING money that is. The way I see it, I spent 7 bucks for the three CD's burnt or not. Happy days for me! I still remember the good old days of piracy when I made over 400 bucks a week selling burnt bootleg copies of Playstation games, Japanese version anime VCD's with english subtitles, and PC games. The Playstation game I sold is what raked in the most money. Id burn copies of Dragonball Final Bout, which is a rare game in the U.S. so no one was the wiser. I'd slap a label on the CD with the cover art from the original, burn it on a black CD-R and BAM people were happy with the result. I sold those games for 20 bucks a pop and sold like 10-20 a week. Even the people who found out it was a burnt copy, the majoriy of them still didnt care, they were happy doing business with me, even if it was piracy. It was awesome being my own boss, making my own money my way. Piracy may be wrong, LEGALLY WRONG that is, yes, but the way i see it, wrong legally or not, it didn't go against my morals. I produced media to the public, and they were appreciative, whether they knew it was burnt or not. Some people who knew my stuff was burnt got all pissy and demanded their money back, and I had to comply, but like i said, about 95% of my customers were happy, whether they knew or not; and only about 5% ever found out it was burnt, but they didnt care, so whats the big deal? The way I see it, I provided a service to these people, exchanging goods for cash, and ALMOST everyone was fine with it, and I made some good cash in the process. I realize some people out their HATE piracy with a passion and would have liked to see someone like me locked up for a long time for such criminal activities, but ehh, thats the kind of morals they have. Like i said, doing that didnt go against my morals, I was just fine with it, and so were most of my customers, but I had to stop doing it. Almost getting sued by two major companies has that effect on you. If you participate in illegal acts, it's only a matter of time till THE MAN stops you lol.... Ohh by the way, if any internet cops or internet narcs are reading my entry, keep in mind I dont do that stuff anymore. I stopped doing it as soon as i was threatended with a law suit, and that was like 3 years ago, so you can put your internet police badge away. Now I just buy music CD's burn a copy FOR ME, and sell the original store bought CD back on Ebay, which is perfectly legal. Yes, even having a burnt copy for myself is legal, because of the fact that when I burn it I am still in posession of the original. As long as i dont sale the burnt copy, it's not illegal, I know the law on that one. So technically what im doing isnt the same as just downloading free MP3's off the net, because i actually paid for the original CD first so those bands got their money for their CD sales. Speaking of downloading MP3's for free, people STILL seem to be doing it, because people are smart and get anonymous proxies so the FBI and RIAA cant get their IP addresses and bust them haa haa! I dont do that though, not because it's WRONG BOO HOO lol.... I just dont wanna take the risk because im on a 56k dial up connection still. I wont say if i'll do it when i get DSL or not, dont want to incriminate myself now do I? I probabaly wont though, because it's so easy to just sell the originals back on ebay and make myself a burnt copy like im doing now. It's such a great feeling to do all that when it's nice and legal. No profit off of pirated goods, or no stealing music without paying for it = nice and legal baby! Even though I dont do the illegal pirating sales business on Ebay anymore, I still think back to those days, the good ol days, of profit and piracy, happy customers, and yes, even almost getting my ass sued off by Funimation (For selling DBZ Movies) and Macromedia for selling various Macromedia products. OHH YEAH, that made me some good money to... Macromedia Flash MX software costs 1,000 bucks in stores, I was selling it for 80 bucks a pop.... That sure didnt last long, people got suspicious real quick at those prices lol..... So I guess in the long run, even though i enjoyed doing that stuff, I guess im glad i dont anymore. Making good money on my own was great, morally it felt good, but being paranoid about being busted from time to time wasnt a good feeling. I didn't get paranoid very often at all, but when i did, it sucked lol. Yeah, I know, I was a bad boy for doing that, and im still a bad boy I guess heh-hehh **Evil smirk** I just dont sell pirated goods anymore. **shrug** Kinda sucks though, I almost got sued, yet to this day even, I still see some sellers doing EXACTLY what I was doing, and it's only a matter of time before they get busted like i did, hopefully they will be fortunate like me and not actually get sued, just threatened. Ok well i spent enough time talking about my OH SO HORRIBLE CRIMINAL PAST, now I feel paranoid an internet cop will read this entry and come bust down my door SEARCH WARRANT, SEARCH WARRANT! LMAO... Yeah right, like that will happen, even if it did they wouldnt find anything, like i said, I dont do it anymore.... im clean. Besides, they have more important things to check out than me, bigger fish to try and fry basically. They got drug cartels and mass murderers to deal with im sure lol... Im just a normal average everyday joe with a legal legitimate job trying to make it in the world nice and legal like now lol... IN OTHER NEWS! LEGAL NEWS lol...... In Good Company is a great movie, watched it last night, im really happy I bought it. Kinda sucks how the movie ended though, with Carter Dyreia not accpeting Dans job offer and moving to CA and basically being jobless. But he was happy, trying to figure out what he wanted to do with the rest of his life, so I guess thats all that matters.
