Biography: (hed) pe Hailing from Orange County, CA, (hed) Planet Earth fuses the sounds of the area's punk revival scene with G-funk-inflected hip-hop, a sound the band tagged "G-punk." The group's lineup includes vocalist Jahred, guitarists Wes and Chad "Chizad" Benekos, bassist Mawk, drummer BC, and turntable operator DJ Product 1969. (hed) pe self-released an EP entitled Church of Realities in 1995; two years later, the band's self-titled debut full-length appeared on the Silvertone label. In mid-2000, the band issued Broke. Despite being released in the midst of rap-metal's popular apex, the album was slow to catch on; however, (hed) pe was undeterred, and in March 2003 re-emerged with the Blackout LP. The band then embarked on the Jagermeister Music Tour with co-headliner Saliva in the spring of that year.
