I had my english exam today, worst exam ive ever -ever- done...
To begin with, I was late, so I had the door seat, and next to me was Katherine, now, okay, she's a fairly nice girl, but she had to rule a margin on every single page she wrote on, why did this get to me?? You know those people who when they rule a line go over the line more than 10 times, really hard, so its really loud and it ends up ripping the paper?? ARGH... friggin annoying
Then I had Penny infront of me, who kept flicking her hair back and leaning back on the seat, its very hard to write when you have someone's ponytail all over your paper, I felt like yanking on it... partly because it was pissing me off, partly because I despise Penny... shes just one of those people who make it impossible to get along with them
Anwyays, Mr Van Eyke (sp??) started conviscating shows for some reason, so we had a pile of shoes on the front desk (at this point everyone was glancing around at each other thinking, 'what the hell...' But yeah, it was funny when Mr Cornell came in to take over... he walks in and theres this pile of shoes on the desk... his face was indescribable...
Anyways, I ahve my Literature pre-order form for next year, havent got my booklist for my other subjects yet, but I got into all the classes I wanted:
Literature
Studio Arts
Classical Societies and Cultures
Design Technology
Psychology
...and Ethics and Morality, but one unit at a year 11 level, because its a catholic school
So yeah, im really excited about Literature, the books on the booklist:
The Children's Bach - Helen Garner
The Dressmaker - Rosalie Ham
A Dolls House and Other Plays - Henrik Ibsen
The Great Gatsby - Scott Fitzgerald
The Bacchaw and Other Plays inc. The Women Of Troy - Euripides
im so happy, I dont mind the extra reading, especially when I see the year 12 english book list:
Henry Lawson Short Stories - Henry Lawson
The Kite Runner - Khaled Hosseni
The Quiet American - Vintage Classics - Graham Greene
...actually, I dont know about the latter two... but my god im glad I dont have to read a book of pieces by Henry Lawson
To think I was contemplating sticking with english...
