I had nothing better to do on Monday so I watched Warped Weekend on Fuse. I always hated the new rock songs but I actually never sat down and heard most of them. A pretty open-minded guy like me could probably appreciate their music if I actually listened. Let me tell you this right now, this was the worst hour and 12 minutes of my life. =/
Bedroom Talk by The Starting line
Lyrics: Loosing your virginity to your love of your life.
Beat: Uppity bubbly rock. Sounds more like pop music with a monkey on a guitar.
My Note: How can you even consider this rock? This song and band needs to die. >_<
Pretty Girl by Sugar Cult
Lyrics: The pain of remembering your ex.
Beat: Nice guitar riffs with moments of simple, grim beat.
My Note: Decent song, but not a good enough song to bring back any hope for rock in this generation.
Sugar, We’re going down by Fall Out Boy
Lyrics: Another song about trying to get the “girlâ€.
Beat: Jesus Christ, it’s so damn upbeat it’s not even funny.
My Note: It’s songs like these that make me wish for global warming to kill us sooner, or just those damn mainstreamers.
Side Note: Lead Singer needs to shave his damn Side Burns. xD
Welcome to my Life by Simple Plan
Lyrics: Teenage angst and hating your life.
Beat: Sounds like every other song I heard…
My note: How the hell can they sing about having a horrible life? They’re fuckin’ “rock†stars, it’s pretty hard to have empathy for a life that is on the opposite side of the spectrum. It’s like if Bill Gates sang about living in the ghetto. >_<
Girl’s Not Grey by AFI
Lyrics: To tell you the truth, I actually kind of zoned out when the TV started playing them. The one of the few decent songs and I spaced, damn.
Beat: Decent Hard Rock song with only minimal upbeat… beats. O-o
My Note: Ok… How is AFI in a tour with, these things?.. It just doesn’t make any fucking sense… >_< AFI, in my opinion, is a great band. I have lost most respect for them. =/
Swing Life Away by Rise Against
Lyrics: All I got out of it was Love. O-o
Beat: Surprisingly I love it, Soft mellow acoustic.
My note: If they didn’t say a single word I’d listen to them. x)
She’s gonna Break Soon by Less Than Jake
Lyrics: Preppy girl turns “Pawnk Rawkerâ€
Beat: Again, it sounds like all the other songs except a little harder.
My note: How old is the lead singer? But other than that I have no comment. =/
Riot Radio by The Dead 60’s
Lyrics: The simple joys of listening to your favorite radio stations.
Beat: =o Funky synthesize beats and modernized psychedelic guitar riffs. Me like. =3
My note: Wow, one band I might actually give the pleasure of stealing their music by burning their cd. x)
Everything is all right by Motion City Soundtrack
Lyrics: (No Comment)
Beat: Bubbly upbeat pop/rock, same ol’, same ol’
My note: Sweet Jesus, now I know it’s not just in my mind; these bands really just have the same lyrics. O-o
Motion City Sound Track“ Yeah, everything is all right.â€
My Chemical Romance, “I’m not All right.â€
Amber by 311
Lyrics: Spaced out again.
Beat: Somewhat Jamaican reggae, I would like it if it wasn’t white guys playing it. O-o
My note: Nothing really appealed to me so I kind of spaced out again.
When I came around By Green Day
Lyrics: I kind of have lost most of my respect for this band so I just went and got something to eat while there song played. xD
Beat: Wasn’t in the room to hear it.
My note: My favorite soup has to be Clam Chowder. Clam Chowder is yummy. =3
Ok… I tried my damn hardest to sit down and listen to all the bands, but I’m sorry. After hearing the same thing over, and over, and over… and over again, it kind of makes you feel like punching a helpless animal. I didn’t want to hurt a poor little kitty cat so I just went and took a nap.
Final Comment: If anyone suicidal is thinking and planning to go through with it, please blow yourself up at that damn warped tour. Kill those bands and the people who listen to them, please. x_X
And that's some pretty good patience.
I'd have given up way before the end.
Be proud, it's an achievement.
The only problem with them showing stuff like the warped tour on tv is that part of the brilliance of them is the experience of being there, which is completely lost when you watch it on tv. Unfortunately. Still, we can always watch to see what we missed
