CHARACTER SKETCH
Giving, now that's something an ENFJ takes pride in being able to do.
Their primary mode of living is focused externally, where they sort through things according to how they fit into their personal value system. This mode also explains why they need time alone. However, too much time alone is never good because negative thoughts have a habit of filling their heads. Intuition guides their internal mode.
ENFJs enjoy people and have excellent people skills; more so than any other type. They envision the many possibilities, understand and care, and have the ability to bring out the best in everyone who comes into their lives. They thrive on giving love and support to others, offering encouragement wherever they can. However, their concentration on everyone else may prevent them from being aware of their own needs. They usually have unselfish motives, but if they have not evolved sufficiently, there is a tendency to use their power to control and manipulate in very negative ways.
ENFJs are not comfortable being vulnerable to someone else; a tendency that does not show up as much in other extraverted types. They may even hold back some of their ideas on a subject that run counter to someone elses opinion in order to allow the other person their fifteen minutes.
ENFJs do however, have a strong belief system, but are normally unwilling to discuss the details because doing so would be in the realm of too personal. They can be expressive and open, but that is not where their focus resides, especially when they are trying to be responsive and supportive to others. By placing themselves in the back row, they are hiding their true identities and not giving themselves enough credit.
Even though they defer to other people most of the time, they are typically straight forward, structured, organized, self-confident, and honest. ENFJs tend to be fussy, strict, and abhor ambiguity. They demonstrate talent in areas that interest them. With their potential, energetic pace and intelligence theres no stopping them from doing great things. They enjoy the process just as much or more than the destination when planning anything. They are excited about the future and become quickly disinterested in the present.
They do well in careers that involve good social skills. Their understanding and ability to say the right things are great assets for a position such as counseling or sales. They are also quite good at instilling aspirations so teaching is also an option.
They are not apt to make decisions just based on facts, preferring to consider the human element as well. And, because their Feeling side, which houses Intuition, has not been developed they have difficulty in making the right decisions. Instead, they have a tendency to make value judgments without fully understanding the circumstances. If they are still searching for their place in the world, they may become overly sensitive to criticism, worry needlessly and feel guilt.
ESFJs are basically happy and find great satisfaction in helping others. They have a genuine heart-felt interest in the well-being of all people, which translates into being able to reach even the most reserved or skeptical individual. He or she longs for close relationships and will do whatever it takes to make an intimate partnership work when it comes along.
ESFJs are charming, loyal, trustworthy, warm, gracious, creative and diverse, with richly developed insights into what makes people tick. This special ability to offer concrete ideas and moral support, are the very tools to help others find their special place, too.
