falling asleep on the flight home

god damn. i'm back here. mexico was pretty awesome, after the credit card problems and trying to find a place to stay from wednesday to sunday. i met the nicest people in this entire world (from mexico city). when they heard about our problem with money and nowhere to stay, etc., they decided that they wanted to help us. they brought a tent, and at first, offered that to us. a few days later, they offered us one of their cabañas (they had three). we couldn't believe it! = ] our families have gotten along very well, and they've offered to have me stay for a summer or a school year with them. the camargo family is amazing. tbey totally made my trip. we saw some really cool things in mexico (yucatán peninsula)--mayan ruins(tulum and chichén itzá), beautiful beaches, umbrella drinks(mmmm!), jungle... it's a nice place. mexicans should be proud of what they're accomplishing in that area. business is booming, unemployment is almost nonexistent, and everyone has something to eat. i just wish that they'd take better care of their land. trash is everywhere. the spider monkeys were driven away(the only animals i saw were iguanas[!])...and the driving conditions there are terrible. it's so dangerous to be on the road there... i haven't gotten montezuma's revenge yet...which is surprising, for how much of their food i ate(i tried everything) and their water i consumed(in various forms). i would go back in a heartbeat. now i just have to get over my sunburn. -_-
