I want you

I need you

I lay in restless wait

For the time you come to realise

My love knows no bounds.

As time goes by,

I wait

For the few precious moments,

Where we are alone,

That, in waiting, makes you mine.

My gaze falls to the clocks

Our time together draws to an end

And the forever question that comes too.

How to end the perfect night, and return to the darkness?

With a hug, a kind word, and a goodbye?

Or with a lone kiss that says it all:

"I love you"?

I leave with a goodbye, without the courage to show how i feel

But as time draws on

The lonely regret builds

And the promise that next time, i will prove my love

Forever lingering in the empty air.

But the time never comes

And I keep it hidden another day

Forever promising

Tomorrow.

But as the times roll on

The forever promise of Tomorrow

Is never satisfied.

The times change

And as we age we are drawn apart

Fate brings us together again

But the forever promise is never satisfied.

Long years pass

And as you die

A tear is shed

Many years have passed

And contact was long ago broken

But the love always remained.

Time changed our paths,

Forgetting our past

And the final meeting

Held in store

A brief hug, and a quick goodbye.

Time passes once more

Bringing regret,

And death, at my own hands.

The forever promise,

To be broken, in the afterlife.
