A good sermon should be like a woman's skirt

Listening to: Atmosphere
Feeling: mixed
"A good sermon should be like a woman’s skirt: short enough to arouse interest but long enough to cover the essentials." I really never understood anything about religion, church, faith, etc. I mean, i've been going to church ever since i was like 5. I don't go anymore, and I haven't gone in like 2 years, but i stopped going for a reason. I'm not abosolutely sure in what i believen anymore. I am a christian, and I hate being branded as the religion that's against abortion, and gay marriages. I mean, i don't really believen abortions, but that's something that should definetly be your choice. I dont think they should tell you that if you have an abortion, your going to hell. And gay marriages should be totally legal. I don't, and never saw anything wrong with that. If you are in love with someone that's of the same sex, I feel like that's the same as if it we're male and female. I have truley never understood anything that went on during church...or mass w/e. Like when they did the readings and stuff, I never clearly understood what was going in the story or...w/e they call it. I still don't know the true story about how everything happened but i guess a lot of people don't. I don't even know all 10 of the commandements. I stopped going to church right before i was going to get confirmed. I stopped at that specific time for a reason. I didn't like plan for the future to stop at that time, but i really have no clue what confirmation is. All I know is that if your catholic, you can't get married unless your confirmed. Is is like the confirmation of your baptism or something? I guess being religious and understanding my faith just isn't what i was meant to do. I believen God and everything, I just would like to understand more about stuff i guess. I definetly just don't have the patience for my religious beliefs.
