Apocalypse: Demise of the Human Race

Apocalypse: Demise of the Human Race “Yo Jake, wake up!” said Robby, calling Jake franticly. “Chill Robby, its Saturday. Why the hell are you waking me up at seven in the morning?” Jake seemed puzzled. He glanced out the window to see that the New Jersey sun had not yet fully touched the sky. He looked around. The apartment wasn’t on fire. His roommate, Robby, wasn’t injured. So what was the deal? “Honestly Robby, you have got a lot of nerve waking me up for no reason.” Jake was pissed. But he just assumed everything was okay. Robby tugged Jake’s arm and insisted he follow him outside. He wanted to prove he didn’t wake him up for no reason. Finally, Jake gave into Robby’s will and they exited the apartment. What Jake and Robby saw outside was disturbing. Jake pinched his own arm, to assure himself that this was not just a dream. They were staring straight across the street at the apartment facing them. There was a row of apartments on fire, but this was no normal fire. The flames were pitch black. The flames formed a word in some foreign language. Jake did not recognize this language to be from this planet. It formed some sort of pattern. Robby got on his cell phone and called the Belleville Fire Department. The firefighters arrived on the devastating scene. They tried to put out the midnight black flames, but the water only fed the fire, causing the flames to consume the building in a matter of nanoseconds. The firefighters themselves seemed confused. Jake couldn’t stand the sight of the ashes where his good neighbors used to live, so he looked up. “That’s impossible,” shouted Jake, thinking every scientific theory that had to do with today’s events was wrong. “What are you talking about? I swear Jake, you are delusional!” replied Robby to Jake’s sudden outburst of confusion. Jake muttered the words “asshole” under his breath, rolled his eyes and instructed his roommate to look up. “Why should I look up?” questioned Robby. “Damn it Robby, you dragged me out here at seven in the morning. So shut up and look up!” screamed Jake in frustration. Robby finally looked up. “Whoa dude! How is that possible?!” “I don’t know” replied Jake. Oddly enough, the sky was green. Jake grabbed Robby’s arm and they ran back inside. Jake pushed Robby onto the couch. “Okay, listen. The black fire and green sky are kinda weird. Think about it. How is it humanly possible for all those things to happen? Huh? The only answer to this one, Robby, is that a human being isn’t causing all this havoc. It must be 2 a… foreign being. And I don’t mean from China. What I am saying is…we are not alone out there, and the only thing we can blame this on is…an alien. But I don’t know. Let’s check it out.” “Okay,” replied Robby. “But first I need a cigarette,” stated Jake. After Jake’s brief smoke break from figuring out the end of the world, the two of them ran outside and started to walk briskly. A few seconds later, a greyhound dog pranced up to them and stood on its hind legs. It started to talk. “The Apocalypse is coming!” said the dog. “What the hell are you talking about?” replied Jake, only semi-shocked, but glad he may get the answers. “Foreigners…or aliens you humans called them, from a distant planet from the galaxy Andromeda, have come to kill the human race because they need a planet to occupy. Their planet is over populated. That is why they are here,” explained the extremely intelligent dog. “Then what should we do?” “Nothing, but hide underground. They cannot kill you there.” “Okay, thanks,” replied Jake. “Hey Jake,” said the dog, “good luck!” Jake snatched Robby and they ran off. They found a fall out shelter. Two girls were already there. They must have talked to the greyhound as well. They jumped in and closed the door. During the time they were in the fall out shelter, Jake and Robby got to know the two girls. Their names were Adrienne and Layla. Jake learned that they too had talked to the greyhound. Jake was relieved to hear that they also talked to the greyhound, because that means he wasn’t losing himself. They all had decided to stick together, because they figured they would be the last humans. A week later, they exited the fall out shelter. They looked around. This was definitely not the same planet Earth they thought they knew. This new Earth has aspects of that of the underworld. The sky was an even brighter acid green with black clouds. The trees were on fire with the same black flames they witnessed burning down the apartment building across the street they used to live on. The soil was rich and it was a royal blue color. “Welcome to hell” stated Jake. They weren’t sure what would happen next. They figured they would most likely become captured, tortured, examined or even executed. Robby, Layla and Adrienne were scared for their lives. Jake was fearless. He thought it was cool that he actually lived through and alien invasion…or at least he lived to meet an alien…so far. The four of them kept walking. A large being and the greyhound Jake chatted with earlier approached them. The being had shiny, black skin and a long tail. Its tail brushed against something sharp, and it started to bleed. But this blood was not just like red human blood. Its blood was acidic and it was atomic green. Jake watched as the blood dripped on the ground and made the rocks dissolve. He listened as the blood sizzled as it hit the ground. This alien also had a grim look on its face. It looked like a creature that gives no mercy. Jake glanced at Layla. She had an extreme look of intimidation on her face. “Hello, mortal humans!” said the greyhound. “Hey, it’s the talking greyhound! What’s up dog? Gimme five!” replied Robby, in the middle of having a brainless moment. “What is this five you speak of? Anyways, I am here to make translations between you guys and the alien. Just to make things easier and also make it so the alien will not kill you off five minutes from now,” replied the greyhound. So the four humans and the alien negotiated. The aliens would let the four humans live on their new planet. But the humans would have to adopt the ways of the alien’s living. They would also have to abide by the alien’s laws and rules. So Jake, Robby, Layla and Adrienne lived on this planet with the new dominant species of alien that occupied the planet Earth. They lived normally, you could say. They eventually got used to the changes. They were actually forced to get used to the new ways of living, or the hunter aliens would take their lives.
