After discovering I was pregnant in March, JD, Patrick, and I decided that we wanted to find out the sex on the new one. Actually, I didn't want to find out, but I got outvoted. Any road, since we're going to find out the sex, I figured I'd wait to knit anything for the baby so that they could be in corresponding colors. However, my impatience outweighed any good intentions, and I started knitting on a seamless kimono before I exploded. I was quickly done with that, but my hands didn't want to quit. And so, what else better to knit than fifty cabled hats, which is one of my favorite patterns ever. And I didn't really make fifty, only two, but there will be more.
The set.
Solo kimono.
Close up of the raglan shoulder. Oh, how I love raglans! No stupid seaming!
Close up of the side tie. The inside attachment is a small button, but I didn't think that was impressive enough to deserve a picture. Whoo, a button.
The pattern is actually for a 6-9 month sweater, but I tried to use a newborn onesie to change the size to what I needed. As you can see, that didn't really work. But I suppose we'll see about that. You never know how babies are going to come out, nor how they're going to grown once they're out.
The yarn is cotton and machine wash and dryable, and it's sooooo nice and soft after it came out of the dryer. I just want to touch it all the time because it's so soft.
Stats:

Patrick's hand in the middle of the hats for some sort of comparison.
