The Better Days

She hangs her head as she walks down the hall She’s never happy, she never cared at all But what I miss are the smiles that made me laugh I now know that it’s all left in the past Sick days at home Aren’t allowed anymore She tells one her problems He doesn’t seem to care And when she’s gone When she’s gone As she walks her feet don’t leave the ground They call her name but she doesn’t turn around Many people worry but don’t try to help I guess that’s the feeling that everyone felt She looks around and there’s sorrow in her eyes It’s all too often that wishes she would die She has these thoughts and tells no one But the ones who never care Sick days at home Aren’t allowed anymore She tells one her problems He doesn’t seem to care And when she’s gone When she’s gone
