When we met

Listening to: Colors - Crossfade
Feeling: resentful
I can remember New Year's Eve very well for two reasons. One, that's when I met Sara. The other, that's when I busted the transmission on my mom's car. So I'm sitting in Kirsten's house, just hanging out and what not. I didn't really know her very well, which was why I was there. I kinda, well, liked her back then. The two of us were alone upstairs, which made me the only person she could talk to. Then the phone rings so she answers it. It's one of her friends who would be coming over soon. A few minutes later, Sara walks through the door. Our eyes met, and I swear you could hear something inside of us click. It's hard to explain, but when I looked at her at that instant, something spoke to me. Told me something about her and I. From that moment on, I was determined to ask her out. She beat me to that, but that's for another day. So there was about five inches of snow on the road. And I had a car with me. Sweet. One of Kirsten's cousins showed up later, and the four of us piled into my car. We searched for the nearest parking lot, where I taught these three girls how to do reverse doughnuts. Man they can scream loud. After about four, I smelled burning rubber, which meant the tires weren't on snow anymore. I went to do a fifth one, and discovered in horror that I had no reverse. And this wasn't my car. I went home and meekly told my parents what had happened. To my amazement, they didn't get mad. My dad just said, "Yeah, the tranny's that GM uses in those cars are pieces of crap. That doesn't surprise me a bit." It cost $1600 to install a new tranny. I didn't pay a single cent. I limped back to Kirsten's house and parked on the side of the street. I hung out there for an hour more, and then we all walked to Sara's house. I thought that was pretty awesome. I was going to the house of this girl I started liking just three hours ago. After hanging out there, we walked back to Kirsten's house to eat whatever was there. When I left, I made sure to say goodbye to Sara. Now then, back to today. At work, a LOT of responsibility was placed on me. We ran variety pack today. That requires two lines running, which means anything can and will go wrong. Tiff wasn't there, So John came in. Most of the time he was gone, and I was the only supervisor in the whole process room. It was awesome because they obviously trusted me to deal with any problem that came up. Thing was, a lot of problems did come up. It was very stressful. I've decided to surprise Sara on Friday. They're having another dance at EFY, and I'm going to get in somehow. I'll hang in the shadows looking for her and when a slow song comes on, I'm going to run out and start dancing with her. Talk about being surprised. This should be awesome. It's kind of fun that she has EFY everyday from nine to nine and I have work everyday all day. That means we have to break rules to see each other.
