Flashing Lights

Feeling: agitated
I got pulled over last night. Here's the story. Around two in the morning, I decided to go out for a drive around town. As soon as I turn down my street, I see this cop pass me from the other lane, make a u-turn, and follow me a little bit. He then made a turn somewhere and I saw no more of him. I went on Main Street for a few blocks then decided to turn onto a residential road. Near the intersection there was a cop car parked and the officer had the trunk open doing something. When I passed him, he hopped in his car and started following me. I drove like a good boy should, using blinkers and going the speed limit. I was going exactly 25 the whole time. I slowed down for the yield sign, and stopped completely for the stop sign before the crosswalk. Stupid stop sign. I made a left turn from the stop sign onto a highway, with the cop still stuck to my bumper. As soon as I made the turn, he lit himself up. Crap. I pull over immediately (using my blinker of course) and started gathering up the necessary papers. Then I waited for him to walk up. He came up to my window and said, "hey buddy, what're you doing out here this late?" "I'm heading home" "Where's home?" "That way" "So why were you going the other way?" Uh-oh. I had to think of something quick. "I was testing something on my car..." "I see..." At that moment my cooling fans came on, so I said, "Ah, there we go." The cop seemed to believe me. "Do you have your license on you?" "Yeah, here you go." "I pulled you over because your taillight is cracked." "Okay..." "Do you have your registration?" "Yep, here it is." "Thank you. I'll be right back." While he was in his car checking my information, all I could do was imagine just how impossibly bored this cop was for following me and pulling me over for that. Smithfield cops are so bored. "Alright here's you stuff back. Get that taillight fixed right away all right." "I will." "And get home." "Yes sir" "Did you have your seatbelt on?" "Yes, I promise you I did." "Alright then, have a good night." "See ya" This is the fourth time I've been pulled over in a year and a half. I already have two tickets. And I'm only seventeen. And to think, I want to be a cop too. Can't wait to tell Sara about this.
