Zoey was diagnosed with Epilepsy February 10th, 2005. She has struggled with uncontrolled seizures since then. On May 13th she had her
Grid placement surgery. Her second surgery, Left Temporal Lobectomy along with a Amygdalohippocampectomy, was done May 19th. As of June 21 we tried IVIg treatments. July 12, 2005-Zoey was diagnosed with Rasmussen's Syndrome. This diagnosis and syndrome are devasting and there seems to be only one solution... another surgery. The Hemispherectomy surgery is in Zoey's future but we are unsure as to when it will come to that.

Zoey's school day went much better. She hugged Dan goodbye and went on her way. The teachers noted that she even had a little fun! She did have a seizure around 3:25 just before I got there to pick her up. Walking up to her she was sitting at one of the lunch tables, she had a tired look on her face, and then I noticed her shirt collar was wet. I knew she had a seizure. Not much to speak of only a minute or so, pretty typical.
Once home we all just settled in since I've not been feeling well and Zoey was tired, Ridley seemed to be feeling warm too. It was a quiet night. Not the best sleep for any of us though. Ridley was up around 2:30 a.m. and then Zoey had a seizure at 3:00 a.m. both kids were up for a while... needless to say being sick on top of about 4 hours of sleep, I'm exhausted today.
Zoey's morning meds went better, not as much of a fight. She seems to be looking forward to school today.
Tomorrow is the bake sale and picnic on the plaza day at the bank. I'm so looking forward to spending some time there with everyone. I miss you all so much, I can't wait.
