Dragons

Feeling: longing
Drake is an ancient and honourable name for dragon. Dragons are quite peaceful. Consistently kind-hearted. Almost invariably harmless. In fairy tales dragons are always burning down villages, kidnapping princesses and eating them. But clearly they have been forgotten. No self-respecting dragon would lower themself to that standard, also princesses are vain, gabbling creatures and they don't make much of a conversation. Dragons used to be quite well known in the world, respectfully looked up to, admired even. That was a long time ago and the human kind is ephemered. One cannot expect of humans the prodigious memory exhibited by the dragon kind. Ephemered means short-lived, saying that human beings don't last very long and prodigious means big, meaning that dragons remember alot better than humans do. Who knows how many will last another century, with the human population growing at such an exponential rate? And wth that, how many more of Earth's creature will become extinct until people say they never existed at all, except in our imaginations? "No doubt but there is none other beast comarable to the mighty dragon in awesome power and majesty, and few so worthy of the diligent of wise men"- Gildas Magnus, Ars Draconis, 1465.
