Pizza at the DMV

Monday was my last day of having my license revoked. So my mom took me to the DMV so I could pay the fine and would be able to drive. When I got in there they apologized and told me that their computers were down and they would probably have them up and running in the next ten or fifteen minutes. I sit there for 45 minutes and they end up telling me they have no idea when the computers were going to get up so I might as well leave. This really frustrated me because I promised my friend Jordan I would drive him out to Harrisville to see his girlfriend that was visiting Utah from Missouri. My mom ended up driving me home and I ended up doing something illegal, I drove to Jordan’s house then I drove the both of us to the DMV so we could get a head start when I got my license back. When we got there the computers were still down, so we walked down the local gas station and got some doughnuts. Then back at the DMV we waited. And waited. And waited. We were starting to get really hungry. A pizza hut car pulled into the DMV parking lot and pulled back out, but before it was gone Jordan had the phone number memorized. I programmed it in the phone, and we called Pizza Hut. We ordered a pizza which was an intense by itself. I did not know my own phone number (I just barely got the cell phone) and I did not know the address to the DMV. But the person I was calling knew thankfully. We ate the pizza in the DMV and we offered to share it with anyone who wanted it. No one wanted it unfortunately, so we ate almost half of a pizza. There were two halves of pizzas left, then we sat in the DMV some more, waiting for those computers, it ended up being four hours in the DMV. Those were probably the longest four hours of my life. We talked to the people at the DMV. We talked to each other about everything from RPing, to girls, to how we hated the “DM FREAKING V”! Finally a guy called us over, “Quick, my computer is working” I got my drivers license and money out and he put it all in, then I think the computer went down again. Jordan and I laughed, cried and hug. Then we were on our way to Harrisville. Which is about 45 minutes away from Logan, and it is between Logan and Salt Lake. So the long Journey began I stuffed Jordan’s crippled body into my beautiful white truck and we were off. Unfortunately my car did not have air conditioning and it happened to be over a hundred degrees outside! Fortunately we did have my camelback which was filled with ice cold water though. So while we were driving we made phone calls, first to my mom telling her we were on our way then to Jordan’s mom who told us that we should turn around. We were not going to do that. Then I called work. Bryce answered the phone and he told me that I had work on only Tuesday. Yes! Everything was working out perfectly. Then my mom called. I reached franticly in my pocket only to realize that it was in my cup holder right in front of me. My mom told me that Bryce called. Apparently I did have work that day at five. He was looking at the wrong schedule. Under no circumstance was I going to work now. I called work and told them I could not make it. Jordan was mighty happy and mighty proud of me at that point. So we continued driving. When we reached Brigham something ridiculous happened. A wasp flew in the car. It landed on my leg. I am not afraid of wasp. But it was not a pleasant experience. By this point we were on the freeway and I was not stopping for anything. I was going to look for the sign. And Jordan was going to keep an eye on the wasp. Jordan yelled. Its stinging your leg. I looked down and sure enough it was sticking its pointed rear end into my pants (which I was thankfully wearing. As usual) Then Jordan yelled that it was climbing up my pants. Then I got scared. And I almost killed Jordan when I found out that he was only being facetious. We made it to Harrisville. I lost the address. We stopped at a Pepsi plant. I got out of the car. Let the wasp out. Killed it. And called Leah’s mom. We were then instructed to follow highway 89 until we passed the golf course. I got really confused for a few minutes and we were lost for about fifteen minutes. We made it to the house that Leah was staying at! After that Leah’s mom drove us to the mall we got something for Leah to eat, then we went and saw Cars, which was a great movie. That whole time was pretty uneventful to me, but I would definitely say otherwise for the two love birds, they were having a great time. After the movie we managed to leave back home pretty late (we were suppose to be home by 9:30 and it happened to be 9:15 when we left. Oops. But our mothers were forgiving and we started home. Jordan and I had a deep conversation while I was trying to look around all the Semi’s to see the signs. Finally I see a sign that says “Tremonton” I had been the before. I asked Jordan. “is Tremonton before or after Brigham city?” Which was the exit that I was supposed to take. He in turn told me that he did not know. I fumbled with my phone while driving trying to call home. Which I finally managed to get the right number without looking at it. My mom laughed and told me that Tremonton was way after Brigham. I was in trouble. She told me to take this exit which I forget what is called. And I told her to call Jordan’s mom because I cannot talk on the phone and drive at the same time. I take that exit and Jordan and I made it home with a prayer of gratitude in our hearts. It was an intense trip to say the least. Four hours at the DMV. Four hours with Leah. And probably four hours of driving. Tonight I pray in thanks
