New story

Here is just a taste of a new thing that I wrote. Its about five pages and actually pretty good. if you want to read the rest let me know and I'll send you an e-mail. Sun beet down on my burned flesh. It was doing as it always did. Ever since I came to this God-forsaken place. There was nothing to shield my skin. There was nothing to comfort my soul. All there was death, sand, and the sun. I was in Hell I knew it. I died and I came here. There was nothing even the light seemed like darkness. It blinded my eyes but destroyed my soul. Exhaustion, Fear, Anger, Sorrow, and loss. But there was no death to relive me. I could not die there was nothing I could do but burn. But in the midst of these powerful emotions something happened. I felt something else. Someone was speaking to me. I felt power. I felt motivated. I knew there was a way out of this place. I had never moved from this spot. I have never cared to… maybe. I lifted a foot from the place that I had stood in for ages. It was difficult the muscles were stiff. I sent my foot forward completing the step. My red skin roared in disapproval. My prison was my pain. My pain would not stop me from walking from seeking the one I loved. Slowly my naked feet made their way across the scorching sand. Step after step I gazed into the horizon nothing changed. But I would not stop walking. I must continue was the only thought that raced through my head aside from the all powerful guilt. Then memories touched me they motivated me further. I was walking the side walk . People would pass me but I did not notice them. I had a meeting and I had to be there. I did not think of others. Not often at least. My family were not people I would speak to often. They were only a side note. The only important thing was the money in my pocket. The only important thing was me. I never gave to charity. I never cared for a soul. From the corner of my eye I saw a darkly dressed man moving toward me fast. I ignored him as I did everyone else. Fire raced through the side of my head stars circled my vision, light came and went. The dark doors opened and once again I could see. “Where am I,” I asked to the dark figure standing above me. “You are in the hospital Mr. Jenson. How do you feel?” she asked. I groaned as I realized the pain. “That bad eh?” she laughed a little. Leave it to the nurses to find humor in pain. “How did this happen?” I asked. “You were mugged, someone found you laying on the street and called the police.” “Who did this?” “There were witnesses they have found the man that did it.,” she answered simply, “the hearing is today, you can probably make it if you are doing well enough.” I jumped out of bed. “I’m fine.” I began walking to the door. “Hold on Mister, I need to check you up.” I stretched out my arms, smiled, and winked at her. “How do I look?” I said. “Fine,” she grinned letting the word drag. I smiled I was starting to like this girl. “How about a date on Friday?” I said frankly surprised at myself after I said it. “Well… let me check my schedule….” she responded, pulling out a palm pilot. I smiled waiting for her to check things. She began mumbling to herself. “Friday…. Hospital…. Delete…. Yeah I am free.” “Good to hear,” I grinned, “I’ll see you Friday then.” At those words I walked out the door.
