Safety in insignificance

Listening to: nothing
Feeling: tickled
Have you ever felt that the more insignificant you are, the more safe you feel? Pop stars, movie stars, politicians, in the grand scheme of things are all very significant people. They are holding onto their significance, but it's such a fickle thing, but you also cant control it. You cant let go of significance just like that. You cant just ask the world to forget about you while you take a holiday. Every move you make is recorded by someone, on paper, or merely in their memory. every wrong move is taken down by the press, or badly covered up by your employers, your superiors in work. Have you ever started to say something to a group of people, or even just to a friend, and then realise you didnt actualyl want to tell them that? everyone's looking at you, waiting for you to carry on, and you start to panic, trying ot think of a good cover up. Now do you wanna be famous? no. you want to sink into the ground. you want to blot it out and pale back into insignificance, where nobody is listening to yuo, nobody cares what you're doing. Only those who can stand up and say you know? i don't give two fucks what you think, and actually mean it, its only those who can hang on to significance and not be afraid that will be able to. People feel safe when they're not being judged, when they dont have to take the blame for every wrong thing, and if they did it wouldnt matter. people are scared when they cant live behind closed doors.
