labor day...memorial day...whatever day it is

Feeling: tickled
you know who i feel bad for? the people who say that they can't live without god in their lives. or that without their belief in god they'd be in a "dark place" or that they'd commit suicide. one of my friends has said this to me before, and a friend of my parent's who came over for a bbq today said the same thing to me. she said without christianity she can't be happy. i guess it's kind of like money. or food. or drugs. most people have something central in their lives. if one day someone said "tommorow music will no longer exist. you won't even be able to think of it, and you won't remember anything" wouldn't you feel some kind of void the next day? for the rest of your life? or if music isnt a big deal to you, replace that with something else. i'm not really sure what this means. does this mean that we shouldn't have anything central in our lives because it makes us dependant? that doesnt really sound right. or does it mean that make sure that what is central in your life is stable? It can't be money, it can't be anything material...can it even be a person? i mean people die too. people go in and out of your life. i think it needs to be a concept. something intangible. that would be ideal, but ideals rarely work out, and ideals aren't even always as ideal as they seem. what/who do you all live for?
