My movie soundtrack playlist is so full of feels.
I come to realize that everything Kayla loves about musicals I do the same about video gaming. I watched Les Miserables and my favorite character was the duo of thieves that follow the main character around from mid-movie to the end... I now realize that I have done this with EVERYTHING in my life. watching playthroughs of Bioshock Infinite My favorite character is not Booker Dewitt, not Elizabeth, not Comstock, not even Daisy Fitzroy. My favorite characters are the duo of a man and woman who you meet every once and a while who say some witty antidote and then disappear. Now that doesn't mean that Booker, Elizabeth, Comstock, Daisy, or any of the other main characters aren't good. Hell, they are great. Bioshock Infinite IS my Les Miserables. It deserves movie adaptation. Just.... just listen to me gush right now about how this will change the media.
Right now the video games we have getting movie adaptations are Fighting Games, shock horror games, and horribly botched versions of the classics. Bioshock and Bioshock Infinite are two games that are made like movies already. Look at what Bioshock Infinite is and tell me that this isn't going to be one of the greatest concepts you can throw on IMAX and make Billions. A movie set in 1912 that combines the flaws of Theist Fascism, folly of American Expansionalism, Quantum Mechanics, Science Fiction, Steam Punk, the Super Natural, a strong female protagonist, An amazing twist ending, and a setting that is a city in the sky that doesn't even have television yet, but has things in it like giant mechanical andriods called Handy Men, and attack ships that run off of jet propulsion. Then my god... the sky line riding segments... if you could just make a movie that makes you feel like you are riding those sky lines I'd watch it. Not to mention this game has so much controversy attached to it with it's themes of racism. The game has a cult of conservatives called the Brotherhood of the Raven who honor to the point of worship John Wilkes Booth for his assassination of Abraham Lincoln.
And.... it will never be made... Works on a Bioshock movie have already been tanked because they couldn't spend enough money to make it properly.
They can make another 17 god damned scary movie movies and it's clones... Throw millions at GI Joe and Transformers, make garbage like Battleship that couldn't possibly make back it's paying price, Remake movies like Evil Dead which no one asked for, And throw Movies like Jurassic Park back in theaters to expliot it in 3D... But when a once in a lifetime game with amazing story and characters, with equally amazing settings and atmosphere comes along somehow there isn't enough money to put into it.

Disney just killed Lucas Arts Studios video gaming division. We will never see a Monkey Island movie adaptation, Grim Fandango Movie adaptation, or my hopeful contribution a Zombies Ate My Neighbors movie.
With Wreck it Ralph making head wind into the movies... Where the hell is a Kingdom Hearts movie? You don't even need to add any Square Enix contributions to them becides Sora, Riku, Kairi, Heartless, and Ansem and just run on pure concept of "Here's every Disney universe that ever mattered, watch this boy go through them all and defeat every Disney Villain that graced the media." Here, take my idea and make a billion dollars Disney, be my guest.
Why has there not been a Legend of Zelda Movie? I think everyone who has ever owned an NES will pay money to see it. Do the math... um... yeah... that movie would pay for itself halfway through opening night.
We are gamers... we also watch movies... and we're getting the short stick. Marvel and DC movies are awesome If it ever made a cover on a comic book it made a movie. Looking at you Steel... I get it that Twilight and HarryPotter fans live or die by the books. They both got their multi movie release and two part ending. Star trek vs Star Wars will be the pinnacle debate of which sci fi series is the best til the end of time. Where are the people speaking for the video gamer in Hollywood?
