19 ~ Roadtrippin' Rugby

Feeling: torn
Sports are so great in the way that its a relaxation from mental work and exhaustion. Last friday and saturday, I travelled up to some small "city" called King City (which is near Toronto) to play in a rugby tournament at a school called Country Day School. Mtl to Toronto.... 6 LONG hours... I had to wake up at 5AM to get on the bus that leaves at 6AM... and ride on it for 6 hours (stopping once at 3 hours into bus ride) and watching Goldeneye. I was kinda late, so I had a bad seat too. Oh well, blasted music into my ears and slept a good while. Nothing overly exciting ^^;; Once we got there, we went to go change for our game immediately because our first one was in 30min. Now... to talk about Country Day School: a REALLY nice and clean school, where the property is actually respected (unlike at my school >.>) and the people are very trustful of each other. Unlike our schools, there weren't any pencil marks on the walls, no dents or paint falling off, 25% of the locks left unlocked, no obnoxious comments, no immature stuff. They also had some *pretty* nice looking girls too (as like.... 99.9999% of my teammates pointed out... lol). Its schools like these that make you wonder a) why does our school disrespect everything we see? We sallified their locker rooms, walk with our muddy cleats inside the building, destroyed some other things... so disrespectful... mades me sad to think we're like that =(, b) why isn't our school coed? Our school being coed would've made life SOOOO much better.... plus, i'd have more social skills compared to the little skills i have now (bad thing tho... more distractions, but hey, there are tradeoffs to everything aren't there? ^.~) Oh well, i'll be leaving my all-guy school in 2 months and going to a coed CEGEP (aka college in every other place in the world) with a 60% asian population!! Talk about mixing back with my people ^^... oh well, I envy CDS, coed, nice (and HUGE, they had 5 full sized fields!) campus, coed, respectful people, did i mention coed? (^.^) but one turnoff.... its in the middle of nowhere -_-;; Anyways, I played 3 half-length rugby games: one in perfect weather, one in slight rain, and one in a completely pour and mud. There were all pretty good, played most of the time as blind side wing forward and twice as prop. Got massive bruises, a few cuts, screwed up shoulder, knees and elbows, but hey, that's rugby for ya. Something seems to be missing from rugby when you play it and come out all clean (my team practises on turf), so it felt great when we played our last 2 games, got ALL muddy and soaked, only to go into a shower and see all that dirt come off. Great feeling ^^. At the night of first day (2 day trip, the 3 games mentioned above where split over 2 days), we had to wait A FRIGGIN' ONE AND A HALF HOURS FOR OUR HOTEL ROOMS because our coaches were dumbasses and didn't like.... reserve rooms for us (or maybe the other schools just bribed the hotels more >.>). Wtvr, by the time we got our rooms at 9:50PM, i got into our room, threw down my bags and changed immediately to go eat with my friends at Baton Rouge. Had a great hamburger there ^^. Bus trip back, 6 hours spent with chatting, playing cards and watching Blues Brothers and Blue Streak (Blue Streak was a great movie =D), nothing interesting. All and all, any trip = great time and more bonding ^^ Lol.... seems like I talked more about CDS than rugby XDXD
