first, you might want to go to your preferences and scroll down to the bottom and choose to have your friends list shown (just so you can see who's all on your list-a-ma-bob) then, go to the diary of the person that you wish to add. like, go to mine (just click on my screen name at the end of this comment) and at the top right of the display page, there will be three selector things: logout my diary add friend (click on add friend)+.+ellen+.+
