There was even a birthday party at my house. All the cake was gone before I got home from work.
Although I did get cinnamon rolls this morning. /sigh. just not the same.
Today was S-D's last day at Lowe's. She's going on to be a receptionist. I told her I still have to cash that rain check on a dinner out; don't know if that'll ever happen but it certainly won't lead to anything.
The last potentially interesting... erm, prospect? at work (we'll call her Home Deco, 'cuz that's the department she lives in) finally took a break with me and we had a decent conversation. At least from her side, I think, because she was (sing it with me)
sha-la-la-la-la-la, la-la-la-low.
Seriously. Fifteen minutes is too long of a break when I'm *not* wanting to gouge out my ears with pencils. She has this innocent flare about her, but that's where my interest in her stops.
Anyway, besides Home Deco and S-D, all the girls at work are very much women, married, with children, and about ten years or more older than me. And they all smoke.
At least I start school in January, though I doubt it'll be much better.
