* Chapter 7

Sam woke up at around six that morning. Her mind racing with excitement, she almost forgot about her sisters midnight whore run with guys twice her age. Sam jumped out of bed and got in the shower. She could barely sit still, all she could think of was nate. "Hm, he's probably just getting on the plain now." She said to herself thinking of his flying schedule. 14A, the gate number kept replaying in her head. He would be flying into Calgary and then an hour stop over, and then to Vancouver where Sam would be waiting for him at gate 14A. She finished washing her hair and hopped out. For once she actualy took the time to blow dry her hair straight. She didn't put on any makeup because Alex always told her that she looked better without it. She brushed her teeth and walked to her room. "Sammie what are you doing up so early?" said her dad rubbing his eyes, still half asleep. "I couldn't sleep." He just lughed at her and walked back to bed. She went through her room finding clothes. The sky was getting lighter but again the sun wasn't comming out, and that's how Sam liked it. Cloudy but still bright. It was always like that around Vancouver. She grabbed a pair of jeans and a tank top. She put her bathing suit on underneath and put on her shell necklace. Sam looked in the mirror and smiled. She pulled her hair back into a ponytail and it made the look even better. After waiting patiently for two hours she finally heard Echo fall out of bed. That's how she woke up, she moved so much when she slept that eventually she would fall right off her bed and she would get up. Sam walked into their room and picked up Echo off the floor and took her to the living room and put her on the couch. "Can you make me pop-tarts Sammie?" She said rubbing her eyes. She probably got woken up by Val when she stumbled in drunk. "Sure hun, did you get a good sleep." Echo shook her head in denial. "Vally came back really late last night and she was really loud. I think someone else was with her." "I wouldn't doubt it. I'll talk to her just don't start anything Echo." "I won't." Sam handed Echo her poptarts and she sat at the table. "When is he comming?" asked Echo. "I'm going to get him around two." The next five hours were the longest of her life. At 12:45 she left knowing the traffic would be bad downtown. She grabbed her purse and her keys and ran outside to her blue jeep she got for her 16th birthday. Sam started the jeep and pulled out of the driveway. She drove through downtown Vancouver to the airport. She got lost trying to find the entrance and was thankful she left a little early. She eventualy made her way to the parking and payed for a half an hour. She parked the jeep, grabbed her purse, locked it and walked to the elevator that took her up to the airport. She stood in the elevator with a chinese family loaded with Louis Vuitton suitcases and gabbing away in chinese on their cellphones and a woman getting ready to leave on a buisness trip it looked like. The doors opened and she walked out starting to feel a little sick, but she knew it was just the butterflies in her stomach. Sam looked around trying to find a map. "Excuse me! Do you know where I can find gate 14A?" she asked a guard. "Go down there until you reach the tram, take tram C and it will take you right to the A gates. Then turn left and follow the numbers until you get to 14." He said pointing her in the right direction. "Thank you!" she said almost running down to the trams. She hopped on the tram just as the door closed and rode it to the A gates. The doors opened and Sam ran out and up the stairs. She found the computers and looked for Nate's flight. "China, Chicago, Calgary." she mumbled to herself. She smiled as she saw the light flash that it was landing right then. Sam turned left just like the guard said and shuffled through people trying to find gate 14A. "12, 13, 14A." she said to herself making sure she didn't miss it. There it was, gate 14A. She looked out the window and saw the plane pull into the terminal. She stood back and watched as they opened the door and passengers started walking out. Her hands shook with nerve as she waited to see his brown shaggy hair walk out. Then she saw him. He walked out in a black billabong t-shirt, jeans and skate shoes looking around trying to find her. She stood there smiling as he spotted her. He smiled and stopped. She ran towards him, he dropped his backpack and she jumped into his arms like they had known each other forever.
