i need a new iPod. the one i have is senselessly excessive. in fact, i can use this iPod as a metaphor for my current lifestyle. excess, excess, excess. instead of 3 pieces of canteloupe for breakfast, i consume 10. i buy 5 cans of le seur canned peas when i only need one. cleaning the confines of my closet, i pulled out two three foot piles of things i just don't wear, things i find inattractive and outdated, absurdly trendy. what would happen if i limited my consumption? buy a car that economized environmental efficiency, versus the SUV i drive. everybody in my hometown seems to thinks environmentalism is for liberal wackos that preach the depletion of the ozone. i cannot wait to move to an urban environment where more than not concious city dwellers recycle glass. i saw ONE recycling bin en route to school this morning. i passed the old landfill near my house noticing a clogged line of cars waiting to deposit their trash.
