The Devil and Tom Walker

We were sposta read this story for English last year... and we took a quiz on it... and I just found this quiz and remembered how funny I found it... because I read the first three questions' worht, and completely guessed the other 9. I got two completely wrong and two with half credit. the other five were right. I got a B after reading the first page of this story. I'll skip the first three questions since I actually read for those. 4. What do the trees in the swam represent, rotten at the core but fair on the outside? Soulless people I got it right 5. What does Old Scratch offer Tom Walker? Does Tom Walker initially accept? He offers him a pirate's treasure, and yes, he does. I got half credit because he declined at first but later accepted it. 6. How does Tom's wife react to the news that Tom brings home? She reacts happily, hugging him for the first time in their relationship. completely wrong. and here's where the humor begins. 7. What job does Tom Walkerstart as a result of his pact? the devil's minion I got half credit, and she wrote the right answer next to it... which was money lender... the devil's minion... and money lender... how the hell is that close? lol 8. As he grows old, what does Tom now begin to worry about? Going to hell. pulled right out of my ass, seemed like a logical guess based on the title. full credit. 9. Why is he suddenly described as a "Violent Churchgoer?" He is trying to repent. once again, anyone reading the title could probably guess this answer. full credit 10. What is the eventual fate of Tom Walker? He turns into a hollow tree. I later discovered that he was pulled down into hell or something, and did not do anything close to becoming a hollow tree. yet, full credit. 11. How do the people of Boston react to this outcome? They scream and run about. no credit, but i still like that answer... 12. Who wrote "The Devil and Tom Walker?" (full name only) Washington Irving copied off the girl next to me lol. I remembered Irving but i couldn't figure out Washington...

What don't you get?
I meant the title of your private entry.
I sent you a text message today, saying "You probably won't even get this" and stuff. I'm going to call you when I get to Veronica's to babysit. You're going away this weekend, right? When are you leaving?
