"A DAY SO GREY" By: Me (Jon) I lie here unable to function, The numbness has succeeded its plan, The time has come for me to make my stand, Can't breathe, can't speak, and yet unable to suffocate. Release never comes when we want it, And oh how the fate loves to toy with us, Regardless of race, gender, or age we all feel its graps, Never releasing unless to let us fall further. Sure, we have our ups in life, But is it not a mere guise for our guilt and shame?, Pleasure is a mystery, a complex riddle for us all, And still, none try to solve it, we only see the end. In between all this lush tapestry it awaits, A truth, a painful secret waiting to secret, Its not unlike us to believe in our own lies, But when destiny itself lies, what are we to do? All we can do is wait and hope for a better ending, If it may come, will it be as we imagined?, Or will it, like everything else, crumble around us, I wait to see a day, a day when the skies aren't so grey.
