:: Chapter 1

Hadyn sat there looking at herself in the mirror, watching the blood trickle down her arms from the cuts she had made just a few minutes earlier. Snapping back into reality, she realized that the blood was dripping onto her carpet. She quickly grabbed her black towel and wiped the crimson blood off her arms. Then she felt the pain; the pain she was longing for. The cuts were to release her aggression. After hours of trying to get the bleeding to stop she finally fell asleep. At around 6:30 she heard her mother yelling from the other side of her locked door. Hadyn opened her eyes and looked around her room. Posters of rock and punk bands covered the dull walls. Black pants and band t-shirts hung out of her drawers. CD cases and guitar picks were all over her floor. Her guitar was sitting in the corner. It was the only thing that was clean in her room. Sounds of Slipknot and Murderdolls were coming from her computer, and the Vampire Freaks homepage was minimized so that her mother didn't see it. Hadyn dragged herself out of bed and quickly hid everything that showed what she did last night. She covered the blood stains on her carpet with a CD case and threw her razor and black towel under her bed. She grabbed a pair of fishnets, a black skirt and a My Chemical Romance t-shirt and quickly put them on. She looked in her mirror and brushed her long dyed black hair, remembering the night she dyed it. Hadyn walked out of the bathroom with dye down her face and her mother dropped the plate she was drying, and started to cry. Her makeup from yesterday was still alright so she didn't have to re-do it. She took one quick look around her room to make sure that everything that she didn't want anyone to find was put away. Hadyn unlocked her door and walked to the kitchen. She grabbed her backpack and put her black boots on and laced them up quickly making sure that her mother didn't catch her leaving. Hadyn avoided all contact with her family. She wasn't much of a talker. Leaving her house she realized she forgot her MP3 player. Knowing that she couldn't last the day without it, she ran back in her house to get it. She ran to her room and found it lying next to her computer. Hadyn put her headphones on and started to listen to the words that kept her alive. She walked out of her house and down the road.
