37: Hand wetsuit

Feeling: optimistic
hey ok hey, so haven't been able to connect to the diary server thingy since tuesday - dunno if the glitch was on my side or not; either way, at the moment, it's here and I'm here and that's a good start. I haven't been able to train at karate the whole week on account of my hand being completely, how you say, fucked. At the moment, it's wrapped in an Elastoplast wrist-guard thingy made of neoprene, which is wetsuit material. IT's been in there since Tuesday. I used a likewise Elastoplast neoprene knee-guard on the Hell Day marathon four weeks ago. Ironically, this week last year I was basking in the glory of being the new Shuhari Foundation black belt, following my 12-hour grading examination and exactly one year down the line, I'm all broken and shit. So that was a bit of a downer - especially around 6:30pm Tuesday night, which was one year exactly since I passed the exam... PS: Please add to the loooooong list of injuries a broken tooth. Stupid rotten, hole-ridden, most no-enamel-havingest sumbitch molar. Got to see the dentist on Monday. He has a lot of sharp pointy slicey scalpely drilly implements which scare the bejeeeeesus out of me. Worst of all, the sneer. "Broken another tooth, have we? Dear oh dear. Don't we know how to look after our mouths yet?" Bastard. PPS: All our malaria parasites in the sterile unit have gone down with a bacterial contamination, a.k.a. the clap. Bad news: parasites all dead; work set back a few days. Good news: Weekend off from culturing. It's a bittersweet thing, really. Well, that's it for now. Not *exactly* profound, or anything; no major epiphanies, or anything else noteworth to nutshell the human condition with some intelligent observations or anything like that. Like, whateverrrrr. Cry me a river, Dick-face. have good weekends, everyone. PPPS: The little picture on the left is Table Bay and Cape Town harbour, in case anyone was wondering. I took it the day after I got the black belt last year. That's kinda the view from my window; almost, but not quite. If you want to see a cooler bigger version, cut and paste http://diaries.suchisthis.com/jennan27/the%20bay-1.jpg

Nice view.

Thanks for the comment. It's been a long week, yeah, and everything gets put into perspective during situations like that, but I really just try to smile and keep on living. And maybe drink an extra beer at the bar when I get there.

As for the site, it goes down periodically because it over exceeds its bandwidth, so nobody can log on. More popular it gets, less time it works. It's a shame, really.
Your malaria parasites got the clap...

lmao That's not something one would hear in normal conversation. :-)
:-) Very good point about him not seeing a sunset. I think he only considers it nice outside if the sun is beating down on him.

And lol about the nasty ass-bacteria. How did the malaria get it?
You know, I just had my teeth cleaned today. The dentist was most horrified. Apparently beer and diet soda cause as much decay as regular soda. Dammit. So four cavities later, my teeth feel like someone hacked at them with a bloody ice pick and a miniature jack hammer.

I'm only eating from now on via intravenous injections.
I hate hot weather so I can't appreciate the whole sun beating on you thing. I do enjoy sunsets and rises. I just watched it rise a little while ago.
:-D That is too cool. Stranger in a Strange Land is such a great book. Maybe since you thought about it twice you should read it again. The cosmos are trying to tell you something.

Tahitian Treat is a carbonated fruit punch drink that seems to be only sold within a 100 mile radius of my hometown. :-)
I came here to either respond to a comment or start a new one, but forget which of those or if either those actually applied, so, being forgetful, I have nothing much to say, so you can ignore this one if you want.
:-D Yeah, it would be cooler if it would tell you who to ask out. But if you were hearing voices telling you who liked you than you would probably commit yourself to an institution or something.

I'm never been to Bermuda...maybe they eat that all the time there. :-)
Haha. Been there. I cried. Then took another.

Oh, the things you do to impress a voluptuous female.

I don't know if you get 'The Drew Carey Show' over there, but they invented a coffee/beer, which sounded fun, so I took some caffeine pills and dumped them into my scotch and spent the rest of the evening twitching.
Yes, definitly the Bermuda Triangle freaks me out. Have you ever seen the show "Unsolved Mysteries"? It always has these creepy Bermuda Triangle stories.
Nope, non-prescription, my friend. They sell them at gas stations, that's how dependant on caffeine we are out here.
Have a good lunch and a fun weekend! :-)
Hey, thanks man. You too. I get to take myself out on a blind date this weekend. Joy.

Peace out.
