I cashed my plane to Chicago in for one to Phoenix and celebrated my birthday with my sister and her boyfriend who is a super nice guy- I'm really happy she's happy! We also had an excelent time. There are so many delicious resteraunts in Phoenix one of which my sister manages!

The process of applying for my promotion is another step along. I applied for the test, took the test, now to wait and see my ranking on "The list" according to your score you get a ranking 1-5 and you need to be a 1-3 to be considered for an interview. Interviews will probably be in three months because everything goes so slowly. In that time I will try and bulster my qualifications.

During the last round of promotional hires there were 7 people who tested and applied. All 7 ranked high enough to interview and all 7 were hired into their promotions. However... business has "slowed" in a sense and it is not clear that there will be as many open spots availible as there are applicants this time. Also they need people at my current position to process certain things so it actually would benefit them to not promote someone just to keep enough people at the lower level to do this "gruntwork". As it is there's only two Ones on my team of ten now and we're both applying to be Threes.

I have been really agressivly trying to make goals for myself and track my efforts and progress. I had a review with my manager and he asked me some basic questions I was not ready for that he was like "you're deffinately going to be asked that and you need to have an excelent answer." For example "Why do you want to be a Three?"

Genuine answer which are no likely to be acceptable "Because if I don't my step mom won't shut up about it?"

Don't get me wrong I do want to do it, it just feels "soon".
