Saguaro's Homecoming was last Friday, and it was one of the best homecoming games ever. I was able to catch up with, or at least say hi to pretty much everyone. On top of that Travis and I got to play tenors at the game. I think that is what really made that night complete and full. Ever since I have been to NAU, I have kind of lost the drive to drum on line, but coming back and playing with Travis completely refreshed and reminded me as to why I even love to drum in the first place. We played Havana Cabana Banana, and it seemed that everyone in crowd loved it. So, after we played, we chatted some more and watched the marching band play, and I thought that they did pretty well. After the game, Travis and I quickly jumped into the marching block and marched back with the rest, we played the cadences with them and then ran out of the block only to find a big crowd wanting us to play for them.
After all the excitement of the game was over, Justin Mossman had planned a big party at his house. It was quite fun, minus a little bit of high school drama that tried to creep it's way back in, but I wasn't going to let it.
However, the next was not nearly as good. I had to get up at 5:30 (completely giving all my thanks to Jill, because she is so loving and wonderful that she woke me up and even made me breakfast. I don't know how I could survive without this girl. I love you babes!!!!) So I was on the road by 6 in the morning. Well, it wasn't the most fun or the best drive I have ever had coming back up to Flagstaff, and of course as soon as I pull into town, I have to be on my way into a long day of marching band. My tenor drums broke and I spent my lunch fixing them, and doing some other things and what not, but oh well. The game wasn't very fun, but if I look at the bright, I only have to play one more game and my family and Jill will be able to see it. So hopefully I can think of a lot of cool visuals to try and put into the performance. Anyway, that is all for now. I have a lot work to catch up on before marching band.
Sleep well
Peace
~Kris
