College and other.

Feeling: jubilant
I noticed SD doesn't have lively as a mood. Meh. So anyway, on to the title. I'm kinda apprehensive about applying for college right now. I mean. I understand that the chances are that I'll get in, but I never was good with denial. So hopefully I'll get in! Otherwise, most of my concern in this entry is to tell you about my latest achievements with the random college kids that I see running. I went to the CCC museum on Wednesday to run (as I often do during the week), and after finishing the fitness trail, I saw quite a gathering. It was about 7:00 pm. I asked some of the more official looking people what it was, and they said it was a charity run for cancer, a kind of extension of relay for life. Instead, this was an actual race, with the winner getting nothing but a T-shirt and pride. I looked over the "competition," wondering if I could beat them. I asked if anyone could join; they said I just needed 10 bucks and legs. I laughed and plopped my ten on the table, then got a little "freedom" band with a pink ribbon tied on it. I laughed at that. I got pink. Anyway, the other runners looked really good. They were mostly college kids, from KCC and other places around her (even some CMU folks, it looked like.) There were about 9 people that were from Corona or something, as they told me. They split us into divisions, got us all lined up, and started us off on a 5k. I'm kind of glad I had run the fitness course before that, because I was warmed up enough to get myself going right away. after about a mile and a half, when the less-fit people started dropping back, I was smack in the middle of my groove. I was kinda surprised to see so many fall back after only half the race; it ended up being just me and some tall skinny guy from CMU. To cut this short, I finished behind him a little ways, which means I got second, but I got first in my age group. This made me incredibly happy. I didn't get anything, but I knew that I was going to have a good season. After that, I chugged some water and went for another 1.5 mile run. When I got back to the loading area from that, most of the CMU runners were there, so I stayed back and chatted a while. It was around 7:40. When we got done talking, it was about 8, and I had learned a lot about CMU, mostly the sports. They told me I'd probably do pretty good in cross country and track, but they weren't sure about wrestling. To tell the truth, neither am I. CMU is pretty prestigious for that, so I don't know if I'll even make the team. Anyway, they congratulated me, and some of the underclassmen told me to get ahold of them once I graduated. Which was a little strange, because four of them were female, and they were making googly eyes. So I told them I couldn't make any promises, but that I would try. I got my report card back yesterday. I ended up getting a nice little B- in trig, which made me immensely happy ;D. that means Mr. Hofer gave me some kind of help in getting it. Actually, I B minused my exam and had mostly B+'s. Anywho, I'm just excited that I did well in everything. I also got my SAT official scores back; I got a 1900 as it turns out. And now, off the topic of school, I'm listening to Finch - Insomniatic Meat. Don't ask. It's a strange song, but Finch is pretty musical. I just don't pay attention to the words :). Ok, update: (10:15) I had like...20 people come in at once for ice cream. This ended up being a pain in the ass, because they were all obnoxious little 14-15 yr olds that had no manners or overactive sexual excitement. The four girls that were hitting on me I couldn't even look at without laughing because they were so stupid, and the other one who was actually intellectual laughed and smiled at me. God. Too much giggly jailbait for me to be sane o.O. The other guys were trying to pick a fight with me, when mycook pal John came out of the back and said "Bitches don't fuck wit this thug." He looked at them (he's like 6' 6" and black, looks as military as his 14 years allow) and told them some more about how I was the shortest thug in Michigan, and that I'd Fuck 'em up, niggas. He's the most white black guy I know ;D.Oh, and the whole point of this story was to say that even though I should've gotten at least $8.75 from their $50 order, they gave me nothin. Bitches. Um, I'm kinda sad Ben is leavin tomorrow. We really were having a hella good time this summer, but he'll be back soon. Then let the crazy commence. Well, I'm out for now. Sorry bout the long entry, I was absent from the internet for a good three days.
