paraskavedekatriaphobia

there are a few positives to having moved into this new place: i looooooooooooooooooove it, it's spacious and cozy at the same time, i feel muuuch safer being home alone than at the old place, and mike really likes it - which has drastically improved his mood as of late. thankthelord. my dad brought the new couch to us today, which was a bit of a hassle to get in here, but we managed. luckily, the hallways are wide and the ceilings high; otherwise, that thing would've never gotten through the initial doorway! it looks much better than the previous and is really plush and comfortable. mike especially likes that he can lay down length-wise and fit, instead of his feeties hanging off the end. the old couch is still in here; mike's been trying to demolish it so we can stuff it in the dumpster, cos it's in too bad a condition to be accepted by goodwill or st vincent de paul. we dug out my hammer (it says 'mine' on the bottom of the handle; i like to keep tabs on my things, hrhr) and he managed to get the feet off and break the arms, though the back is still intact at the present. wow, does that ever sound wrong. we could actually probably keep the thing in here, as the room is large enough. it's so beaten up, though - before the hammer, even - that it's like that fabled white elephant . .. only, you know, a worn, ripped, structurally unsound one. as with the couch, which my grandma had given us (it was my aunt's, then hers, & now ours, though relatively new), my gran also sent along a towel rack thing that stands over the toilet tank. one odd-ball note about this place is that the w.c (/washroom/bathroom/loo) hasn't a medicine cabinet or hall closet or anything. the rack is nice cos we can put all of our random, too-large-for-the-drawers junk on it. so long as linus doesn't try to scale it as a kitty mt everest, we should be fine. in other news, work is apparently set to resume on monday. it was nice having been canceled this past week - at least, in the immediate - because it made moving a lot easier, but seasonally, it sucks. there are so many things i've got to save for, so it figures that work would be slow. i've been exhausted by this frequent 'will they/won't they?' lately, which has caused me to kick the job search into overdrive. now that we're settled, i can better focus - which should hopefully yield some positive results. side note: the v8 splash smoothie in the strawberry banana flavour is sooooo goooood. can't be arsed to drink the 'regular' tomato v8 - i'd have difficulty keeping it down, certainly, but this splash smoothie thing is superb. i've finally found a juice i like! .. . kinda. it says only 10% fruit juice (lameee). still, ten is better than 0%. while i'm sure my platitudes on fruit-flavoured beverages are highly [coughuncough]enlightening, i think it's time for me to take my eyes out and get to bed. long day of sorting tomorrow, guhhh. (ps i don't suffer from the title, i just like the word.) have a splendid sunday! and wish sarah luck - she's in hospital!!!!!!!!! congrats to her and the new little addition! (=

I'll update since its been a long time and I'm at work doing nothing like usual.

Alright, I won't steal the cat, I'll just think about stealing him ;]

Hope all is well my dear.
What sort of job do you have that keeps cancelling on you?
i hate when there is so much for me to comment on and right when i begin to write a comment i forget what i was going to say about everything. haha. oh! i love that v8 splash stuff too. it's sooo good. 2) i actually know what that phobia means! 3) thanks so much for the sweet comment on my diary :) 4) where are you from/living? i've noticed that you have a slightly different vocabulary (ie. "loo") haha
and "flat" haha...i just saw the pictures! i LOVE buildings that have brick walls inside. for some reason i just think its sooo beautiful and classy. mm. you're lucky.
Dude I totally have a twin sister. I've only been drunk once in my life so don't worry about it ...

Yeah, I'm eventually going to steal Linus :]
I think you're the only other person I know that refers to contacts as eyes. Whenever I tell someone I have to "take my eyes out" they give me strange looks. Haha. Well this was random but I just came across your SitD and felt the need to comment. =)
hurrah for new couches.
I really do like the house. The peach paint...ehh, it kinda fades into the background in that picture, though. But I love the bricks and high ceiling. Congrats on your new home!
yeah it just annoys me whenever he has to work late, and i have to try and remember that i'm not actually angry with him i'm angry at not seeing him...
