School, in of itself, doesnt suck too horribly.
No, the thing that sucks is your parent's unrealistic expectations.
Picture, if you will, the following scenario:
Here's this kid that's home schooled and works around 40 hours a week. Now the kid was on this highschool correspondence course that sends you one book at a time, sequentially through a list, a total of 16 courses.
All is well and good.. UNTIL
An overbearing mother hell-bent on making the kid take a course that he has no interest in (Spanish, in case your wondering) and blows one of the kid's ELECTIVES (Note the word electives, i.e. the student elects to take them) on a hugely difficult spanish course.
Now this spanish couse is about position 6 on the course list, so the book comes, and the kid hits a stonewall. Normally the kid is expected to get in one test per week on each book. Now, do the overbearing adults give the kid any kind of leeway or break to get the test in on a later date in case of difficulty?
Abso-f***ing-lutely-NOT.
So, the overbearing parent tries something else: get the school to send all the books at once, and quadruple the kid's workload because they're wasting too much time on the computer*
(*Read: Trying to run a business and doing quite well at it)
So, the arseload of books arive, and the new arrangement is one test a week.. No wait, 2 a week.. No wait thats still not enough, let's make him do 3.. Ah forget that too, just make it 4. That'll keep him busy.
Now, remember that the kid is working a 40-ish hour a week job in addition to having a LIFE, you know, friends, socialization, stuff like that? Of course some uselesss literature books (for someone who can already read, and do it well) are far more important than Real Life© will ever be, so this is a moot point.
So, they give the kid a week to study each book, and make him have the tests sent on a certain day. (Saturday, which is not even supposed to be a day for endless drudgery, instead a day for fun and relaxation)
Now, nonwithstanding the fact that the kid already has plans with friends, and other (REAL) work to do, do the overbearing parents give the kid any breaks at all?
Nope.

And that, friends, is one of the many definitions of complete and utter suckitude.
Meh.
Till next time
