pain high

Today has been interesting. I got up an hour early to finish my government project, but then I didn’t go to government because the printer got jammed (and I have found that it is better to not go at all than go late…stupid rule, I know). I then went to Spanish where the test that was scheduled for today was canceled (and she informed us of this how? lol). Kyle and I then had tons-o-fun in Chemistry on this lab that we don’t know when we’re going to finish…but making tornados with the boiling water was quite fun (dangerous, yes…yet fun ;D). Next came the doctor… My mom took me to go see the doctor because we think that my shin splints may have turned into a stress fracture(s?). I got x-rays, and then went back to school in time to get on the bus (supposedly) to go to the track meet (actually I got back in time to hang out with Audra a bit at lunch :D). I was where the bus was supposed to be at 1, and NO ONE was there…so I checked with the office, and I guess the bus had left an hour early (?)…so my mom ended up driving me all the way to Agua Fria (out in BFE, lol). Our tri-squad meet (three schools competeing) turned out to be a (I’m not sure what you call this, cuz this isn’t supposed to happen) meet with 5 different teams. I guess our team has a policy that you have to ride the bus to and from the meet with the team (no exceptions) if you want to compete…but I had a nice long conversation with the coach about maybe (just maybe) getting x-rays was a good enough reason to end up being driven separately…so I got to compete. I was in SOOOOOOOOOO much freaking pain. I don’t think I have ever been in enough pain where I couldn’t keep myself from crying before (other than shock)…it was bad. Somehow I ended up jumping 7’6” and tied this girl (we both had the exact same number of misses and everything) for first. Our options were to split the points or have a jump-off. Well I would normally go for the jump-off approach since I know I can jump quite a bit higher than that normally, but I went up to the girl (practically in tears because I had just jumped and I had this excruciating pain shooting through my leg) and asked her if we could just split the points…of course not. It turns out that we had to wait until AFTER all the guys jumped (girls go first, and then when they’re done the guys jump) to have our jump-off. The guys went…Charlie got 1st with something around 12’ (woo hoo! Go Charlie! You are awesome!!!) and Rickie got 2nd for guys, so that was really cool. By this time though the rest of the meet was completely over (partly my fault that the pole-vaulters took so long…we’re not going to go into that tough, lol). Just our team was all sitting in the bleachers (since we have that stupid bus-riding rule…to and from the meets) waiting for us to finish while EVERYONE else had disappeared. Quite amusing. I went and re-warmed-up to jump again…and this time I was sooooooooo ready to compete. I am sure I would have made the height and won, but oh well. We were in the middle of doing run-thoughs (warm-up/practice runs without a bar) when our coach came over and told us that they were just going to force us to split the points. Interesting meet…and I’m happy that Charlie and I both did better than we had expected. It’s now like 10…and I just got home…long/interesting/bad and good day. I just wanted to share/get this out…not your typical day now. lol Goodnight (when I finish studying for my Chem. test)!~ Sarah :D (P.S. Oh yeah, my team came in second (barely) because the points that I scored…so the splitting thing on the points wasn’t all that bad after all. ;D)
