Well, it's finally the new year... 2006... the year I graduate from high school. I'll give you a short version of my Christmas break...
My Great-Grandma (Grandma Weston) passed away on Christmas Eve around 10am. So mom and I rushed up to Charleston to be with Aunt Donna and the others. We came back home on christmas and spent time with Uncle Darin (my mom's brother), Grandma (mom's mom), and Herb (Grandma's boyfriend). We opened presents and had a pretty good time.
well, I think Grandma, Herb, and Uncle Darin all went back up to charleston the next day but mom and I left Tues (27). When we got up there we were at Donna's for a few hours before we had to leave to go pick up my Aunt Tammy (my mom's sister). so we picked her up then headed back to Donna's. Spent a few hours there and then left cause everyone was getting drunk, except a few people. Woke up Wed arond 9 cause my Uncle was bothering me and got dressed for the viewing.
Walked into the funeral home and i was fine. Then I was Granddad (Great-Grandpa Weston) crying and I just started bawling. Aunt Tammy came over to me and said "I was fine, till I saw Granddad." i just nodded and continued crying. mom and dad then took me outside to my car, to calm down. We were out there for 30-40 minutes, then went back inside and decided we would leave again to get something to eat. We just went across the street to their Wal*mart and got some subway and were back in time (30 minutes early in fact). So I hung out in the kitchen with everyone else while they ate, caue I couldn't look at Granddad or I would start crying.
When it was time for the funeral, we took our seats and waited for the first song, "Amazing Grace". As soon as the song started everyone was crying. I was just trying to stay sorta in my own little world so I wouldn't cry. I glanced at Granddad and he was crying again, but i willed myselft not to cry, since i"m a rather loud cryer. Made it through the whole funeral without crying until the end when I walked past the casket (which wasn't hard for me) and saw Granddad wheel past crying. I lost it then and just cryed. Then we headed out to the cemetary to finish it off and we released a dove. It was so pretty and actually came flying back towards us cause it was raining.
When we got back to Granddad's house Dad, Nick, and I changed and mom just changed her pants since there was really no need for being dressed up anymore. Dad left to go home while we went to the church to have some hot chocolate and talk with the family. While we were there a bat got into the building. Everyone kept saying "well that figures. We used to call Grandma an old ding-bat". it took them nearly 20 minutes to catch the bat. Once they did they took it outside and released it. After that everyone slowly left and then mom, nick, and I decided it was time to go home.
that was my christmas break... oh yeah... the recruiting office burned down mon (dec 19, I think). yeah i was a little sad about that, since it's like another home away from home. Well I guess that's all. I'm outta here for now... ttyl.
Small Update: I got to talk to/see Garrett yesterday, so I'm pretty happy. Then I went and saw Wolf Creek with David. It wasn't all that scary, the only thing that made it really scary was the fact that it was based on true events. Pretty good, though.
