WATERCOLOR FILM
two photos taken with my cell phone's camera
editing a 18m39s (1.21gb) video down to 7m31s on my macbook so it can be loadable to vimeo. at first it was really frustrating having to sit there and decide what to cut, but after thinking things through i realized people don’t want to look at me mixing colors or pouring water. of course ;/
i took this picture from when the video (faster speed) was playing on my television for bigger viewing. before color was added- disproportionate girl with bushy eyebrows:
i made croissant dough last night. i did some homework on the laptop as the dough was resting in the refrigerator. i almost forgot how many folds and turns i had made because i neglected to mark them. if anyone here has made croissants then you know that folds/turns are critical. i eventually had to sit down and go through my head to mentally visualize each turn. it turns out i had only done the original folding and one turn. how i could forget that i'm really not sure. what is a croissant with only one turn? not great, that's what. the folds/turns are what produce the layers in this pastry. i blame being overly-studious (for once!) on the situation. it's been resting overnight. i am contemplating whether to shape and proof before noon or later in the day.
in news related to the month of september, my friend james was born on the 12th. i was thinking of what to get him and i finally came to the conclusion that i am going to purchase george orwell's novel 1984. he was born in 1984, after all. i haven't even read the book although i had heard about it. i am hoping that he hasn't read it as well. if he has then i hope he enjoyed it. anyways, as cliche as it is "it's the thought that counts" and i would like to say that i actually put thought into this present. money only goes so far, right?
Croissants are too much trouble and involve too much butter and stick to the roof of my mouth. i will avenge the roof of my mouth! down with croissants!
