As I watch my dog viciously attacking a rubber chicken, I have to wonder if maybe we're instilling him with the wrong values. Being, myself, a person who learns best through fierce inculcation of the subject matter (i.e. reading the sentence twice, attacking the chicken daily), the reason he bites anything in front of him seems fairly obvious. He's a cute dog, but he has a lot of training to endure. My parents' disciplinary methods, namely the one where they sit there and ignore the biting, aren't looking like the answers.
I believe I'm going to step up to the plate and start reinforcing the word 'no'. I may come out of this ready to parent a child.
Whatever happens, though, will have to happen later. I have work.
Enjoy your ice cream, and have a great rest of the night!
