(I know, its kinda short, but i'll post chapter 11 soon) Chapter 10 - He’s Not Worth It When the bell rang, Nathan and I walked out of the class together, the way we always did. When we got closer to the gym, I spotted Jesse standing by the door. He seemed to be waiting for something. I had a feeling I knew what it was. I reached out and grabbed Nathan’s hand. He smiled, until he realized that I was clinging to him out of fear. He looked up and saw Jesse, standing there with his arms crossed, staring at me. I don’t think he even noticed Nathan. Nathan squeezed my hand and whispered in my ear “Don’t worry, I’ll take care of you.” Then, he let go and walked away. Unsure of what was going on, I kept walking slowly towards the gym. Jesse reached out and grabbed me as I walked by. “Let me go, Jesse.” He hung on. “You didn’t tell anyone, did you?” he asked softly. I struggled. “So what if I did?” He dug his fingers into my shoulder. “You little bitch!” he hissed. “You better not have fuckin told anyone.” “Too late Jesse, she told me. So if I were you, I’d let her go before you get your fingers broken.” Nathan stepped up behind Jesse, glaring at him. “This doesn’t concern you, Nathan. I’m just talking to my friend.” “Yeah? Well I don’t believe my girlfriend wants you talking to her.” “What?” Jesse asked. He looked at me with one eyebrow raised. Then he started laughing. “Yeah, sure. You expect me to believe that a girl like you could get a guy like him?” He asked me, with a slight laugh. That did it. Nathan lunged for him. “Nathan, don’t! He’s not worth it!” Nathan didn’t listen to me. He just pushed me gently out of the way before he went for Jesse.
