Listening to: Goodfellas - HBO
Feeling: violated
It's the name of my entry, obviously.... Just got done watching the movie Goodfellas for like the 10th time in my life. Such a great movie. Ray Liotta, Joe Peschi, Robert De Niro, what else can you ask for in a mobster movie? I swear that movie is one of the best of all time.
It's funny you know, in real life I see modern day gangsters, and even mobsters back in the Goodfella days as pieces of shit. Low lives, yes men, wise guys, take what you want when you want it no matter who you hurt fuckers. Yet at the same time, I just love that movie, and it was based on a true story. Mob life in a nutshell. James Conway, Henry Hill, and so on, their lives in the mob, so interesting in the movies, yet so pitiful in real life. It's hard for me to explain how a movie based on a true real life story can be so entertaining, so excellent, and so magnificent to me; yet, the thought of this shit happening in real life sickens me.
Goodfellas will always be a classic. A masterpiece by Martin Scorsese, yet at the same time, a profile of life at it's most horrible outcome. Murder, drugs (Cocaine mostly), Adultery/Affiars, and general crimnal activities, it's all nuts, all business, all about the family, being a made man.
Goodfellas is truely one of those movies where you love it, yet you have no idea why... That is infact why Martin Scorsese is/was a genius. You get a taste of that style of life, yet never want to experience it...
lol jk...
