A static lullaby blared though the windows of Shawn's car. He was tracing the road to Nathan's house. So far, Nathan has been having parties regularly. Parents are so clueless sometimes. "Now don't have parties when we're gone." Little do they know, the plans begin right when they leave. He barely turned to Nathan's street to hear the loud music which overpowered his CD, even with the windows closed. He entered Nathan's house. For these, he did not have to knock, not like anyone would hear. Many people were vomiting in the front yard, there were a few people on the roof. Nathan was drunk this time, as Shawn was greeted by several attractive girls and a pimple-faced male. "So, Shawn! What's goin on? How's it been since high school?"
"It's great, Ash." He lied.
"Niiice, where do you work now? Maybe I can stop by! I haven't seen you in forever!"
Shawn suddenly felt like throwing up.
And when the song came on, it didn't help.
Tyson Ridder sang "I'll keep you my dirty little secret..."
Shawn laughed, "Rain check you for that one." He forced the vomit down his throat.
But then he saw Jamie. Beautiful as usual. She was sitting in a guy's lap, holding a drink, not drunk, but sweet and smiling. She sipped her cup of vodka while smiling at the boys talking to her. The guy whose lap she was sitting in made Shawn's heart fill with jelousy, but it was evident they were only friends. He leaned in to kiss her, but she slowly backed away, giggling nervously. Shawn listened from a distance, "Johnny, you've had too much to drink." She got up off him without a fight. Shawn forced his eyes away, but she was coming towards him. And simply, she walked right by Shawn, and smiled, with her drink curled to herself. The space was tight, so Shawn was thankful that she had to squeeze between him and Ashley, he could smell her dizzingly gorgeous scent. "God, I'm turning into such a sap." He thought.
"So do you have a girlfriend now?" Flirted Ashley.
But Shawn was still staring in Jamie's direction, trying to hold onto her smell, but it was gone. When she was out of sight, he turned to Ashley, "Sorry, what?"
But she was gone.
Nathan came up to Shawn. "Wassup. Glad you could come." He smelled strongly of hookah and indistinct crap mixed together.
"Yeah... no problem." Shawn spoke, holding his breath.
Shawn and Nathan walked around a little, not really getting anywhere until Shawn saw him.
It was... Brian.
Shit.
And Jamie was walking past him. He smiled in her direction, then looked to Shawn and mouthed the infamous "Damn." He clenched his fist, but let loose. "Brian can't control you." He repeated.
"But he is."
