Mushrooms, truffles, and lemon drops.

We read this really weird story in Expos today called the Balek Scales, and it included mushrooms, truffles, and lemon drops. Well there was a lot more to it than that, but those were the basics I got. I said "lemon drops" really awkwardly to Aislinn...There's my title, yo! We got our yearbooks two days ago. Oh goodness. Everyone gets so excited, trying to get as many signatures as they can. I don't really care. I mean it's nice. I just don't run around with a pen in my hand begging every cool person to sign it so that I feel cool. My crazy old next-door neighbor is out on the front lawn pointing at things. AH! HE'S GONE! Just as I typed "My crazy old..." he disappeared. Scary. AH! HE'S BACK! Creep-ay. Let's see, synopsis of the week...Monday & Sunday were spent at Ken's playing Halo and watching Club Dread (horrible movie) and Love Actually, while getting devastated by the bajillions of mosquitoes that had gotten into his house somehow. My feet are covered in bites. It sucks. Dad just got me Benadryl spray (oooh, spray form!) from Rite Aid. Ahhhhrefreshing. Friday night & Saturday morning I actually stayed at Jesse's mom's new apartment with Jesse, Moreau and Douce. They got wasted and high, and I did not. Around 7ish, Tianna and Jenny and Chyna came over, and they got wasted as well. I still did not. They stayed with us for awhile, Jenny staying until about 1. Around 9 the three girls all got really hungry and were going to go to McDonalds, but Tianna was blatantly drunk and I did not want her to drive. But they were set on going. I was the only one not drunk, so I gathered up my jacket and moved it to the exit with Tianna's keys and the girls in tow. I drove them to McDonalds. Understand that I do not have my license. I risked a lot of legal trouble to make sure those girls were safe. I hope they appreciate it. But I doubt they remember it even. Gah. Oh well. We didn't get pulled over or anything. It went very smoothly. Tuesday I was Mr. Greenier's little helper elf for the 8th graders' Step-Up Night. I was the one who talked to the parents. I gave brief explanations of various generic topics, then gave my group a tour of the school. That was tough, because one woman was on crutches, so I didn't know how far or fast I should go...but I think it went alright. After the tour we met back with the kids in the old gym to sing the school song, then ate cake and dispersed. It was a good time. Except I had to run back to the new gym to get the crutched woman's jacket & papers. But I didn't mind. I felt bad that she had to walk around so much. Before I had to be at the school that night (had to get there at 5:00), I went with Heather to Fresh Ginger, and a few minutes in Mel and Jenna joined us. Heather took approximately a bajillion hours to decide on a meal, after asking zillions of times what the red meat was (she was trying to figure out boneless ribs, which I told her about a zillion times as well...). We stole 3 tables' supply of fried wontons, by way of very secret missions. We laughed at our fortunes at the end (mine: You are very successful at everything...in bed." Jenna's and Heather's were good too. Mel's was boring. So I bought a bag of fortune cookies and got us all good fortunes. Whoo. After Fresh Ginger we drove to the boys' varsity baseball game, which they won. Yayyyy boyssss. Wednesday...I don't know if anything special happened, really. Today I sang Meatloaf songs with Becca Workman in the hall, that 500 Miles song with Kimble (by those Australian brothers...what was their name? It started with an N...argh!), and that old No Mercy song by myself ("where do you go, my lovely...where do you go?"). Emma also yelled "Go away!" to me this morning, and I just busted out with "WAY AWAY AWAY FROM HERE I'LL BEEEE..." and she joined in. It was fun. I made a remix to Everytime on my keyboard while watching the Simpson's tonight, then took a nap. Now I'm writing this. And I need to go finish my research paper. Tomorrow I want to go see the new Harry Potter movie with Kimble, because we're so cool like that. Then Saturday is Lily's surprise birthday party. Speaking of which...I still need to make Emma a blanket. I think Sam thinks I've been ignoring him because we haven't hung out at all this week. But I'm not. I'm just wicked busy with everything I have to do before school ends on the 11th. Ahhhhhhcrazyschedule. I think I'm going to become a Big Sister in the Big Bro, Big Sis program. I think it'd be fun. Okay, I am gone like Madonna's virginity. Out: Gretchen
