Crazy Week

The last week has really been crazy! First, I had Trek, then I went to see my dorm room for next school year in Salt Lake, and then I had a family reunion. Trek with church was awesome, I wrote a lot about it in my off-line journal so I won’t put too much here. The family reunion wasn’t that great since I really didn’t know anyone there and most of the people were either quite a bit older or younger than Leann and I. Leann and I spent most of the time in my Uncle Scott’s trailer watching videos. We watched an Eagles Concert on DVD, their goodbye one, some of the extra’s on the Pirates of the Caribbean DVD, and we watched all of Spy Kids 3, which was somewhat predictable. The Eagles concert was the best. I’m going to need to get some lamps for my dorm room; the light in the room is very small. I’m planning to get this one at Wal-Mart that has five pose able lights. Another light for the desk would also be good. Today my mom and I went clothes shopping. I used to absolutely hate clothes shopping, but now I’m starting to like it a little bit more. We managed to get three pairs of pants, three pairs of shirts, and a cute belt for me. We also managed to get a cute cheap dress for my mom and a pair of pants for her. She and I also went to this Chinese buffet; I think it’s called the Grand Buffet. There was this one short, and very cute, Chinese waitress there. It's amazing how much fun one can have with their parents if you just allow yourself too. I am very blessed to have the parents that I do. I've used handwriting analysis along with personal observations to see this, you see, my mom really doesn't have a very good relationship with her dad, they are ok, but they drive each other crazy. I try to count my blessings here and there, it helps me to stay happy with what I have and to not lust for more. "It's not having what you want, it's wanting what you've got," as Cheryl Crow says. This entry feels rather shallow in comparison to some of my others. Oh well, I guess that’s the way it goes sometimes. Things are going well for me, I have contact with my friend Tyler again, who I’ve rather infatuated with for last couple of years. It has really helped me to stay happier being in contact with him. I’m glad that I can write to him while he’s out on his mission. I’ll admit that I worry about him sometimes because I have no idea how civilized an area of Brazil that he is in, I have a sinking suspicion that it isn’t very civilized. ~Amyelk Out
