Best. Conversation.

Today Lawra and I had the best conversation with one of the third years, Miranda. Basically we had taken one of our collaborated lithographs and written "Dear Marian. GET FRESH. You are good at life. Love, Eileen and Lawra." And, being the annoying first years we are, once we got talking to Miranda we pointed it out and insisted she see. She laughed, shook her head and said "You guys love her, don't you." We looked at each other, and as Miranda was about to go back into the studio we called her back into the room and demanded to know what she meant, that is, didn't she like Marian? Thus started the story of how the third years HATE the printmedia studio, which was shocking to us! [But not really, we do have our own complaints.] Basically, Miranda [and Mila etc.] were Visual Arts students [we are Fine Art, the difference being we chose our major for first year where they choose in second year, with a preliminary year covering a range of disciplines. I SOUND LIKE THE VTAC GUIDE!] and when they got into the studio as second years last year, they were shocked by the fact that they didn't have their own real space to work in, they didn't have enough access to the studio and the staff weren't willing to help. We could empathise, because we know how incompetent people can be *coughHEATHERcough*, but apparently we have it much better than they ever did! I can't rewrite the whole conversation word for word, but it was just fantastic, and even Sarah, who was wallowing in her unproductiveness, said it was worth it just to witness that conversation. I feel like my eyes have been opened! Another great thing: Miranda thought we were second years. "Why?" "Because you guys are so confident!" "YESSSSSSSSSS." That made us feel pretty good about ourselves I must say. Hahahaha they did a whole year of lino last year because Heather can't teach anything else hahahahahaha Oh, and we were laughing and talking SO FUCKING LOUDLY that we were worried that people in the studio could hear us. But it was great to have a bitch, and Miranda didn't give a fuck because today was her last day before she graduates. But Toni didn't seem to have heard us, because she farewelled us cheerfully enough. Ran into a couple of people today. Short haired Lauren, as soon as I got to uni in fact. She said everyone was in the painting studio setting up their installations for tomorrow. I was sooooooo tempted to go get a massage from the other Lauren, but their stuff is due tomorrow so I decided to leave them be. Although, I did see Anne looking out from the window of C&B's, but of course she didn't acknowledge my wave. She may not have seen me, so I'll give her the benefit of the doubt. BUT. She never seems to say anything to me when she's with that Ellie May. Pssht. I had a dream last night, it was nice. It was this morning to be honest, after I was supposed to be awake and at uni. I don't really remember it; it was just nice. Mmmyeah. It was great talking to Miranda, I think that the anti-motivation will actually motivate me next year! Oh! I bought a Belle and Sebastian CD [Dear Catastrophe Waitress] from JB's in Camberwell. It's GREAT.
